Folks today we have launched the New Zealand Radio Sport facebook page. We'll be adding in a podcast for those that want to listen on the move soon.
We are starting with the 8am Morning Sport Briefing (been live for 2 days now) and will be adding more opinion, interview, talkback and feature shows over time.
Thank you in advance is you decide to support the supporters radio station.
Feels like a bit of walking over a corpse going on here. Not sure it endears me to ever listening, to be honest.
in fairness, it's NZME that's created a void by destroying a staple of sports fans in this country.
@DrivingMaul is trying to bridge that void for people; it feels sudden, but that's not his fault.
That's fine. But, to channel ol' mate Stargazer, he could have perhaps created a separate thread.
not a bad idea,
Amazing how quickly that happened. Revenues must have absolutely cratered

Well Bauer Media have gone which reinforces that view. No more Listener, North and South Womens Mags and a host of specialist publications
Although Bauer have been struggling for a couple of years TBF

Radio makes money off of advertising so when that dries up, there is no revenue basically.

Yup and with Facebook taking a bigger and bigger slice of the marketing pie due to it's hyper targeting there needed to be a review of the model but it's not happened. I Heart Radio app is perhaps the only move in that direction that I've seen.

@daffy-jaffy Thanks, I was more interested in her claims against the Herald. Only one line in that referred to the third investigation, so some context seems to be missing there.
The article kind of reads like they were justified investigations, where his ex-wife seems to think the last two not?

It's tough - mud sticks, and if the investigations aren't upheld, no one remembers that, just that the news is paraded all over the place.
Sounds like NZME were firing lawyers around as well, which is a bit shit really. Journalism in this country is a bit shit really, but horrific that it drove someone to that. Feel deeply sorry for people in this situation,

Yeah, I think some of these "journalists" need to consider the impact of their words.

Get well Martin.
Most people , like me, probably are no more aware than that he had an altercation with a colleague. And have no more interest to dive any deeper.

While I have little respect for our (sports) media, and it's horrible what it lead Devlin to do to himself (and his family), he certainly knew how to dish it out himself, too.
I wish him all the best for his recovery.
Possibly a good point to be fair. By the sword and all of that……
