Well Southern boys are in New Plymouth tomorrow again, and last couple of weeks I haven't been up there to follow them, they been getting knocked around a bit too. Instead what I have been doing is picking a shall we say a 'village team', one of the 3rd division clubs, really enjoying it, generally make sure I wander into clubrooms and join their for a beer. Loveing it, will do same thing tomorrow and just wander over to Stratford and watch their 3rds play Kaponga where I was last week!

OBM hold thier spot at the top (45) Kamo nabbed a very late penalty to pick up a narrow win to hold 2nd (44) While the sharks keep thier impressive form going and move into 3rd (42) after MN have had 2 low scoring wins the past fortnight as they drop to 4th (41) 12 points clear of 5th place Moerewa.

@tim The problems at Glenfield must be pretty bad as that was their second default in a few weeks.
They couldnt even field a premier side last year (or possibly year before) so guess it is slightly better than previous but still very sad

Auckland imports
Any names of note?
You might have noted that D'Angelo Leuila was listed as a Fraser Tech player in the Samoan squad announcement. There may be others but I haven't looked closely at the team lists.
It was based on a comment to me from someone associated with another club.

I thought this is fantastic. A guy most thought would be in the twilight of his cricket career, making his debut as a premier rugby player.
Great work from Broomy.

Went along yo watch the top of the table clash between OBM and Kamo.
OBM took the lollies 19-10.
Think they were up 13-3 at half time, in a pretty physical encounter.
Isi Manu again central to OBM game, but I'm really warming to Noah Cooper at the back, looks really assured, and with a booming right foot both out of hand and off the tee, could be an option for Northland at FB.
Kamo made hard work for themselves losing 7 of thier own lineouts in a row from about 20 mins through to about 60, several that were attacking lineouts in OBM 22.
Iose Brown the reserve prop made a massive impact the moment he came off the bench with huge carries and brutal defence.
Hohaia looked sharp today, good running, passing and vision.
Packs were pretty even, OBM just took thier chances a bit better.
Kamo were down 10-16 with about 5 to go, got a kick able penalty but opted to run but didn't come off, several minutes later Cooper slotted a 52m shot to put the game out of reach.
That result sees Kamo drop from 2nd to 4th:
OBM 49
Western Sharks 47
Mid Northern 46
Kamo 44United Kawakawa 11 back in 5th.
