Thank God for that. I thought @nostrildamus was referring to some non-alcoholic abomination pretending to taste like single malt whisky.
(Fond memories of malt syrup - my dad used to let me lick the spoon when he made his carboys of beer.)
The old malt drink from childhood? No. Zero alc-Malt whisk(e)y? No. Abomination? Probably. Nearly 0% Malt beer. From Arabia. With pineapple.
I have no shame, and probably no taste. It was just an experiment in cheapness and there is a nice bottle of honey mead to try tonight. No such thing. There's a place round the bays that sells it, some months back, possibly first weekend out of lockdown the other half and I were off on a Sunday stroll and bought some to support local business. Actually she bought it as my wallet was in the car.
Anyhoo, Mead is fucken awful and it goes off after a couple of weeks. I advise avoiding it like the plague.
In other news can anyone suggest a good pub near Whiritoa to watch the game next weekend ? we're in the holiday home for a few days.
Whangamata, Bucks bar. Plenty of screens. I don't think there is a pub in Whiri?
There's a fish and chip shop, that's about it. I might have to do some streaming......

They have a courtesy van so if there is a few of you, I would imagine they would do the trip over

If mankind peaked at the swim-up bar, the development of the courtesy van is not far behind.

Oh yes. They even have one at the Raetihi Cossie club, and nobody lives more than a ten minute walk away (depending on the individuals consumption, which can be quite large).

@MN5 You are halfway between Whanga and Waihi so heading to either would be the only option.
Hmmmmm, it's gonna be after a long drive and the game is pretty late.
It's all screaming "far too hard" basket so far.
I'll just log on to the fern. The match threads make one feel like they're at the game half the time.

The bitching, toy tossing, complaints about selections, some fluffybunny that you disagree with right in your face, parochial regional comments.
You're better off at the game.

Whilst a holiday in Australia would be delightful we've had to "settle" for the Coromandel.
Actually fuck that, Coromandel rocks !!!

Well the whole trip will be longer than a few days I just didn’t bother mentioning the bit about going to Auckland
