Chiefs v Crusaders (Round 2)

Link to thread saved to bring out in June when the Chiefs revert to norm by scraping into the finals only to lose a qualifier or quarter....

Still plenty to work on, particularly the lineout, with 2 short-arse locks.
Cane and Karpik are not tall enough to be considered as LO options either.
That will change when they get some players back from injury. Jacobson is a very good lineout option and will provide more balance to the loose forward trio and you have Allardice and McWhannell as specialist locks.

Odd the Chiefs did not select Tucker for their squad.
Perhaps circumstances played a part in that. Tucker had a great 2018 M10 Cup but got injured in the final against Otago and was out of rugby for a while. When he was fit again he ended up training with the wider Blues squad so they would have had the inside running to sign him for this season.
The other explanation is that Cooper was biased towards Taranaki players which is why the likes of Parete was brought into the Chiefs as an injury replacement instead of Tucker.

@ACT-Crusader Mounga would've made a big difference on Saturday.
