Geez I hate the Rabbits. And they get a try that shouldn’t have been awarded.

@ACT-Crusader Deliberate play from the Bunnies to give the Broncos the spoon. The Bunnies know that they're not going deep into the finals so why not had the Broncos their first spoon 😉

    Covid is real. 😎

As much as I’d love to believe that, I doubt the Bunnies players would know the ladder let alone how to read points and percentages...

We have looked like a top 4 side at times today and then a bottom 4 side.

Ricky Stuart might have a heart attack today

I thought the Warriors looked brilliant in the first half, and had the Raiders by the scruff of the neck.
That bloody intercept try changed the momentum Canberra's way, and that was that.

What did Twain say - 'It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.'

You can't help but admire the Warriors at the moment.

    Nice touch from Payten.
Geez he'll be hard to replace and hopefully he hasn't just set us all up for massive disappointment next year if the Warriors inflated tickers all shrink over the off season...

Agree with you Gunner, when Wighton went to the bin, I was sure the warriors would put them away. Instead they conceded twice within 5 minutes and the game had turned.. However unlike almost every other team not playing for anything on the weekend (and normally the warriors themselves), they didn't give up.

Payten is the biggest loss this year for me. Anyone who can change a mindset around that quickly is to be respected. Nathan Brown although probably optimistic about the side, is probably not too happy that he will be compared to Payten and not Kearney

I thought the Manly game would have been the perfect opportunity to play Turner at fullback, his favoured position. Instead Payten puts Hika back there and includes non-specialist centres.

@Bovidae perhaps, Turner could have ben an option. I think Payten is focusing on winning first, even though out of contention, he doesn't want them to go back into their old "just give up" attitude. Trying to leave the team culturally in the best place he can for next year. Which is another reason I rate him as a coach. Thats the only reason I see him playing Hiku at fullback of which he has played at many levels.

Im curious who you think is fit, that is a specialist centre? Beale not classed as a specialist centre anymore. Herbert hasnt been good enough defensively, hence moved to wing. Only Hiku can play there at NRL level. That is a massive weak spot and why they signed Aitken next year. Don't forget this team is only the fit players they have left.

Jazz still needs to pass HIA, if he fails I suspect Tohu plays in the middle as the lock, Murchie plays edge and Turner comes into the 17 as he is just lurking outside. Personally I still think Turner gets a shot off the bench, interestingly I think they think him more of a half, but I agree he might get a run.

Given they are trialing some new rules in this match, it could be interesting to see if the game really opens up. Especially the forwards only in scrums rule. (only rugby league would consider this a twist 🙂 ) Could give someone like Perham and Turner some real room to move.

@bayimports I just think keeping Hiku in the centres and adding Turner at fullback would be better than Keighran AND Perham in the centres, defensively.

Turner looks to be a very promising player too. I saw him in an earlier game and he didn't look out of place

I hate it when Hiku plays fullback. My heart simply can’t handle it every time the opposition kicks...

I have read a quote from Peyton and he didn't want to put Turner in the position where his lack of match fitness affected his performance.

“Paul Turner is really unlucky to miss out. Our thought process behind leaving him out was that he’s only played one game this year and throwing him at fullback, he’s going to have to cover the most distance, in terms of metres in the game. Up around 11km or 12km.

“Given that he was gassed only having to defend playing in the halves against Canterbury, I thought Peta (Hiku), with his form, his match fitness would be better served for us.

And in other news, Iro's ability to retain his job is over.
