NRL 2020

Worst thing is that it was Addo-Carr that made initial contact. And the fact it was a YC just compounded the bad call. Two tackles later and Storm score.
-
Oh sure. And you league fans say rugby has gone soft?
Don't mess with Melbourne.
What happened?
Two guys going for a grubber on the ground, TV ref decides the raiders player took the other guy out without the ball in a try scoring position. Definitely wasn't clear that was the case, if anything it looked like he was swiping at the ball and came into contact with his legs.
Sounds exactly like the Warriors last night
Exactly.
Further proof that the Warriors continuously get butt fudged by the refs and the NRL, who let or more than likely encourage this to happen. -
@Gunner huh that's not the usual impression I get. Seems to be a lot of head/face contact in league that is let go as just part of the game.
Yes you’re right, sorry I didn’t explain myself properly.
Most of the time it is let go, unless a player decides to make something of it and pretend he’s hurt.
I’m surprised the players don’t do it more, as any sort of acting always seems to result in a penalty.Edit, or if they’re not acting and actually hurt, why do the NRL only penalise high tackles if someone gets hurt?
Really highlights the difference between the codes in player welfare doesn’t it?

Storm’s armchair ride from the on field ref and TMO continues.
The Crusaders of league. 😏

Nah, Storm haven’t won enough premierships.

We’re discussing armchair rides from the refs Not wins. The Storm would be close but the NRL has systems in place so that one team can’t hoard players. 😛

@ACT-Crusader Yeah, for all their dominance they only have 2 premierships under Bellamy to show for it.

Does that count the stripped titles?

@canefan No they don't count. Cheats.
Funny how the Roosters rorted the cap when they beat us in the final, but they didn't get stripped of that title

Speaking of rorting caps, one wonders how they've got the best players as judged by their peers:

I mentioned it earlier, but i can totally see this current Roosters side fitting under the cap.
Tedesco will be on pretty big money (but i doubt Ben Hunt shit contract money). Keary they picked up when Souths basically showed him the door. The Morris boys are too old to get big contracts. None of the other guys are rep players, and few would be on old deals that must be coming up for renewal. I doubt any forward bar maybe Cordner is on huge money, maybe JWH?
They are not overflowing with rep players any more. They've got a test prop (but a kiwi test prop), an Origin 2nd rower, and that's it up front. Radley might play Origin this year if he gets fit again and they go deep in to finals. They have a kid at halfback, Keary should play Origin, but that's not guaranteed. Tedesco obviously. But apart from injury i can't see any of their others getting a gig.
-
but seriously, Mitchell Pearce best halfback in the game? He's getting a good ride behind a huge Knights pack, and he's terrible for them. Just terrible. He's the new Braith Anaster for being severely overrated.

Look at all of those Warriors names getting votes over the past three years.
Kearney, Tuivasa-Scheck, Maumalo, Fusitua, Johnson, Green, Harris, Luke.
Makings of a good team...

I think you just summed up the Warriors for most of their history, but especially since Cleary left.

Maybe if you take their career at the best point. Not sure they ever played together at their peaks.
