Taylor nicks out chasing a really wide one.
The Blacks Caps have gone from a pretty bloody good cricket team to a really really bad one in the space of a couple of months.
Just totally bloody clueless.
How does a team manage to lose 3 games in a row when in all 3 they should have won from the positions they were in.
Something clearly isn’t right, they seem to have become mentally weak all of a sudden.

Our batting regression since the Word Cup is really quite horrifying. There is something not right in the BC camp. One guy having one or two bad games is something, but this is a whole bunch of guys batting like crap for 8 games straight. Our level of choke against the Indians is truly WTF.

A quick look at the scores from that tournament shows that we actually didn’t bat well through the comp. We got a couple of scores in the 240s, one of those was against the Bangles, And our best score against the Windies. On that day our three best scorers were Kane, Ross, and Neesh. Our current batting line up is a shadow of that one, and we can’t afford to leave our better bats on the bench. Why we can’t find space for Neesh, and maybe Blundell defies logic. You can’t play India with a 5 man tail and expect to win

What about Steads "pre-planned break" for this series? Wild.
Pretty typical for most leaders to plan their breaks to coincide with major competitions, I mean, there really is no other opportunity this year for him to head to the caravan park and relax with the fam.

Let him go. Can we be any worse?

My immediate thoughts too.
I do wonder if there were any outside commitments like a relative's wedding or something.
Otherwise it seems weird.

@booboo apparently is was "pre-planned", seriously. Wtf do they take the common fan for???
So bad.
My point was is there a reason from outside hi control that it was pre-planned?
If there is, share. If not ... I'm gobsmacked. So can only assume there is.
-
@booboo right, got it. I'm only back for a couple of days, haven't seen the news here in years. What got me was how matter of fact/run of the mill the excuse was that they rolled out, like it would be swallowed up by us all at face value. Just bizarre.
-
"No, this has always been pre-planned," Jurgensen said.
"So I've been planning for it for a while to look after this series.
"It's been happening throughout the summer, I've had breaks, other coaches have had a break to freshen up and get ready for the other challenges ahead after this series."
This is still not optimal IMO. The boss takes time off in the busiest time of the year? Bizarre in any organisation. Ridiculous in one one performing so terribly at the moment.
-
Pre-planned. After we lose 8 in a row we stick to the plan huh?
There'll be some sound bites again soon about how important it is to be " flexible" in your plans as a " coaching unit"
Staggering how much confidence in this team I've lost in less than 6 weeks!

Again, my point.
You don't plan a holiday during the middle of a home tour by fucking INDIA!!
So if there is a legit reason for said break then tell us. If there is I'll buy it.
Otherwise it's complete crap.

Coney agrees.
It's just weird. Who comes up with - and authorizes this plan?
Seems like the brains at NZ Cricket departed when Hesson left the building.
