Cricket: NZ vs Aus

Great day at the SCG yesterday in the major sponsor's box.
Free beer and gourmet food.
Warner got a ton.
Ross Taylor got the Kiwi runs record.
Goat got a Michelle and a Tenfer.
Aussies wrapped up the series.
Mel McLaughlin walked past (@mariner4life she's tall)
I got to walk out on the SCG at the end. -
And so, the worst outcome of this disaster has already started, the commentary on how this has been a shit summer of cricket, and we shouldn't be invited back until we can put up a decent fight. Basically we are back in to the days of not long ago where the "big 4" are really the only thing that matters, and everyone else can just play among themselves until we get flicked a bone here and there.
Of course, this kind of opinion ignores two things: The big crowds, especially in Melbourne, and the fact we entered this tour fresh off beating fucking England 1-0.
Get fucked Australia, your team has been good again for about 2 months. 12 moths ago you were dogshit. You didn't win in England, and at times looked 2nd rate. If Archer didn't hit Smith in the head, Loosebuschange is playing BBL right now.
Yes, you absolutely pummelled the fuck out of us. Your attack is all-time, especially in Australia. In Smith and the Lauboutin you have guys who can score runs all over the world, and in Warner a guy who can score heavily and quickly in Australia. Right now, i can't see anyone beating you in Australia. But take this elitist bullshit and fuck entirely off.

And I also picked up a couple of these rad stubby holders.
That is well-cool! I saw it on your facebook post (But couldn't make out what it was)and saw you had your sunnies tucked in there and though that was a good little gimmick to stop you losing them while on the smash.
Looked a tough day.

This is undoubtedly the best NZ team to have toured Aussie since the 80s, but I think it's shown that bowlers win you games, batsmen decide margins. I'd trade Kane for Paddles in a heartbeat.
Hard to argue with that.
I would say that our Batsmen lost this series and their Bowlers won it. Can't have one without the other.
Based on batting averages this was supposed to be the best NZ Team to tour. But its results that matter, so they must rank with the worst.

The biggest disappointment, well apart from choosing to fucking bowl first in the 2nd test, is the stark difference in attitude of our batsmen compared to theirs.
Their natural stroke makers reigned themselves right the fuck in. They batted uncharacteristically slow by Australian standards, absolutely making sure they got themselves past 350 so they had runs on the board to allow their bowlers to attack.
By contrast our blokes regularly threw their wickets away - Kane going for that insane pull shot when he needed to dig in is a great representation of that.
That's not a talent thing, that's attitude, discipline, application - all things we really have to lay at the feet of Stead whose job it is to instill that.
You can see the influence Langer is having on their top order now. Make sure you get a fucking score on the board or you're fucked - nothing flashy - just give your bowlers something to bowl at.

Doesn't get any less hurty the more I read and nod away

@No-Quarter there really was a lot of Justin Langer about the way they played wasn't there?
We bowled a lot of deliveries that they didn't have to play. Perhaps our plan was to feed their shots, and it was trumped by their plan not to play any?
The runs scored is interesting. Labuschagne is a mile in front (2 hundred and 3 50s from 6 bats!!!) then it's Warner and Smith (only batted 5 times). Their 3 best players came up big. Head is next. Those 4 did the bulk of the heavy lifting, and it was mostly built around their #3.
The less said about ours the better.

I'm really looking forward to the ODI's on March. Good opportunity to set things right.
We are ranked no. 3 in the ODI rankings (v Aussie at 4) and NZ is the current holders of the Chappell Hadlee Trophy. We'll go in as slight favourites.
I expect us to bounce back well.

Watching live - and from the top tier of the Brewongle stand (cow corner to a leftie batting at the Randwick end) - it was interesting you note that I could pick up the ball from the spinners and just from CdG and Wagner.
The other bowlers? No fucking chance. Cummins and Starc you could not see until they came off the bat.

I remember being side on at the CWC15 final. Same thing, couldn't see the ball when the aussie quicks bowled
-
wow, hasnt this game finished yet...glad I am busy at work
-
@No-Quarter particularly annoying is that we did the same to the English as the Aussies did to us. Batted slow and long, got big scores, then England got themselves out with poor shot selection.

Wish I’d made it to the Boxing Day test, looks like it is going to be a long time between drinks...
Judging by the past I will be in my eighties.
What Ponting says is valid but crowd numbers may count too.
