The rabble that was Oz without Smith would have been a relatively easy contest.
With him back. It's not just his own brilliance its the balance he brings to the side and the rise in confidence he gives them.
I would love to beat those bastards. Too many decades of patronising and cheating but I think it's big ask.
Here's hoping. Bring It On.
A consolation would be a series loss but getting Davey Dumb Dumb out cheaply every innings.

Fucking hollow. That LB was so fucking plumb McDermott should have walked. Unless it was going under.

Do not start on the Oz in Oz decisions
The Sneddon catch?@canefan said in Cricket: NZ vs Aus:
There were several bad calls in that match. Aussie umpires were as bad as south African rugby refs back then
@Siam said in Cricket: NZ vs Aus:
@Chris-B big Steve Waugh nick off Vettori to Parore....
@Chris-B said in Cricket: NZ vs Aus:
@Siam Yep - Gillespie clearly out but not given as well.

I'm still spitting about 'it could ahve come from anywhere'. FFS, thankfully modern DRS is much better than that - I think that was early doors. Still, cost us a very very rare chance of a win
That one was the absolute worst. Just reading that phrase makes me angry.

Off you go Nick. Start your list.
Don't start him or he will be regaling us with tales of how Pinetree set out with murderous intent from the day he crossed paths with Ken Catchpole.

Really looking forward to this, and the series schedule lines up well for NZ if things go their way.
Pink ball tests are always a bit of a lottery, and if you avoid batting at dusk then you can generally score well. You'd think the toss would be pretty important.
Then to Melbourne which has been dead, flat and slow for years. Tough pitch to get a result.
So if NZ can get some luck in the first test then there's every chance you head to Sydney 1-0 up, and that test has been dogged by rain for the last ten years.
On our side of the equation, the Pakistan series came at a great time. Warner is now back in form, and Marnus is red hot. Smith has yet to fire a shot, which should worry the Kiwi bowlers. And our quicks are bowling as well as ever.
I'll tip an Australian win, but a tied series or a Kiwi win wouldn't shock me.

Cricket and umpires was actually the list above, but thread diversions have happened before I think... He did say refs, so yes Ken may well be bought up although I don't believe it was a Kiwi ref?

Come on, you been around long enough. Have you not learned that thread diversions are the norm and you were inviting Nick to tee off on anything Oz/Kiwi related in a one eyed view of injustice.

we're no chance. I don't think we'll win a game. 2-0 to Australia

Tell you what gents: you start your grudge list of bad South African refs and we'll see where we end up.

To be perfectly honest, I'm shocked that the words "underarm" or "Chappell" haven't been mentioned at least three times.

I think we will get absolutely smashed in the first test.
The we have a FC game v Victoria to fill in the gap before boxing day.
So by 2nd and 3rd test, I won't accept too many excuses. We will get beat, though.
Australia very good at home. Finding Labuschagne changes them from a bit dodgy to solid as. Getting Smith back turns them into almost unbeatable. Plus, Warner in home conditions ....
Australia now have a very settled 11.
We have good batting, but with Raval out of form, I'm now a bit worried about how deep we bat, with keeper at 6.
Not liking Taylor's front foot pulling and hooking I've seen in the England series, that won't last long over there. Also expect Santner's batting to struggle over there.
