Whoop whoop, big win for the Saints against Brissy.
Yay we kicked more goals than behinds!
-
Just caught the last 5 minutes of that Suns and Giants game, a comedy of errors from both sides. Giants the main culprits and it cost them.
Lot’s of talkback that Richmond are officially cooked for 2021.
They are 12th but only a game out of the 8. Their run home is - Brisbane, Geelong, Freo, North, Giants, Hawks.
They could easily scrape in, but the way they are playing isn’t great. Their defensive pressure is almost non-existent.
-
Brad Hill should be dropped for next week. Useless.
Port get us in a close one.
Top 8 slipping away.
-
I only lasted until quarter time due to a combination of illness and self-inflicted illness, but I'd seen enough at that stage to feel Melbourne were going to win handsomely over Hawthorn. Got a shock to see this morning that it ended in a 79-all draw. Our litany of losses or poor results against poor sides continues this season.

Dews job in jeopardy now surely
Aaaand then they beat the Tigers in Melbourne
Who would be a coach?
They play a good style the Suns, but it’s high risk too. They were getting through the middle with some regularity.
yeah, if he can get those guys to ignore the scoreboard and stick to the plan they could real dangerous real fast.
Interesting people saying this loss ended Richmond's flag tilt. Not sure it's quite that drastic. i still expect them to sneak in to the 8. And then it's the same equation as it was 2 weeks ago. Win 4 finals. Probably all played at the MCG. Sure, it will take a significant form reversal, but they aren't dead yet.
Injuries ruin any title run. Best Richmond can hope for here is to ruin other team's hopes.
Was Mrs Hardwick the real brains of the operation?
LOL
Yeah they are done , too much not going their way this year , that’s football
No complaints from me , still pinching myself they won 3 ,
Did that really happen ?

im going to say it...swannies have a shot this year...that was an awesome 3/4 of footy

Yeah that was very impressive.
Comp still pretty open. Bookies have Geelong and Bulldogs as equal favourites, then Melbourne, Brisbane, Port and Sydney.
Can see any of those sides getting hot at the right time and winning, though I'm less confident about Brisbane and Port than I was a few weeks ago.
-
Hipwood was Brisbane's best forward and his loss will take a couple of weeks to adjust to.
Been a terrible fortnight for the Lions.
-
Dusty it appears has lacerated kidney and that's him done for the year
Sad for the comp, Dusty in September is the best thing on TV.
-
@mariner4life buddy getting his thousandth goal in the final is going to be pretty special
how do you lacerate your kidney, ouch
-
Holy shit ... Crows leading at Quarter Time.
However am not going watch us fuck that up over the next hour or so.
#booboobedtime ....
Hoping that works for AFL as well
-
Lions obviously got a rocket at half time and come from 4 goals back to hammer the Suns
Lol at Carlton
-
oh Hawthorn, what have you done?
I like Sam Mitchell (his injection sledge v Essendon was the funniest bit of chat caught on camera) and by all accounts he'll be a great coach, BUT, Clarko is a fucking gun, he's guided them to amazing success, and we've seen this sort of handover go tits up before.
I would imagine there are 9-10 clubs ringing his manager already.
You know what, i love Fagan, but i would take Clarkson next year in a heartbeat.
-
@mariner4life Clarko won’t coach next year, but I think he’ll be back in 2023.
I think all the uncertainty and noise got the better of Hawthorn and they needed a circuit breaker. It’s easy to shake the noise off if you are winning but because they are in a lean period it only gets louder and the journos will latch on to any minor thing and blow it up.
Good on them I reckon.
-
Also, nothing like the AFL trying to take the limelight.
Now the Clarko story is the biggest news story in Victoria. What Olympics….

He could coach Adelaide. I wouldn't mind ...

Right with the Olympics done and with a greater schedule of games returning to the box I can now start paying attention again. What's happened of late? Lockdowns and postponements? Who's resurgent and who's on the slide? I caught a couple of minutes of a couple of hidings yesterday (Lions vs Freo and at one stage it looked like Hawthorn would thrash the Pies but I see that closed up a bit).
The Dees have got the Eagles away tonight which has been a fraught fixture for us for a while now; the 2018 prelim final and last years' final pre-Covid hammering stand out. Recent form lines are similar (both two wins from ther last five games) but West Coast are definitely a bogey team for us so I'm not overly hopeful and am therefore not too worried it's not on TV. If we do get up though, we're back on top of the table.
-
@shark basically no one wants to finish first and no one wants to finish 8th
It looked like Geelong were rolling to a flag. Then GWS beat them well. The Dees have faltered. The Dogs lost again on the weekend. The season is spluttering a bit with all the fixture movement.
Right now i don't know who the fuck is actually the favourite. All i know is, it's not the Lions
-
Dees win what sounds like a pretty bizarre game with a lightening delay during the second half. So we're back on top having beaten a quality team away in what's the most difficult road trip also. You'd have to think that puts us back in the running for the flag, big time.

West Coast are a quality team in name only. They're 10 and 10, and have only won 4 of their last 10.
