Canterbury vs Manawatu
-
Cantabs doing there best to screw over anyone who wanted a safe start to their multi this weekend
-
The worrying thing for the Cantabs is that they haven't really looked likely with ball in hand.
-
So breaking down this Canterbury side.
One regular SR starter in the backline (Drummond) and two in the forwards (Douglas and Franks). Only one is a consistent first stringer though. In the backs, Burke, Poihipi and McLeod are yet to play SR and I think also Siataga in the forwards. Some of the young talent just isn't that wonderful ie McKay and Punivai. Maybe there's a good reason the Crusaders have let them both go. Not the powerhouse side of years gone by (pre 2018 dynasty).
But there's enough talent and experience in the forwards to get the job done in the NPC. So man up fluffybunnies.
I've got no faith in Maddock. I think we've dug pretty deep into the talent pool the last few years as head coaches have moved on and now we're dredging the bottom. And the backs and inconsistent backline selections are a big issue which is hurting us.
Come on CANTERBURY.

@shark This season shows us that there is a certain tipping point where having too many players called into the ABs starts hurting, even with Canterbury's depth.
Maddock will be gone, too, after this season. I hoping for Cantab fans that they'll find a better coach.

Hahah the bounce of the ball again.
-
@Stargazer Why would ya haha. Haven't they won enough since the turn of the century.
Still think Canterbury are favourites here funnily enough especially if they score next.
-
@African-Monkey could be all on if Canterbury score now, especially with about 5 Manawatu guys with their hands on their heads heaving in the big ones.
-
Yes Booth, welcome to the Hurricanes.
-
Man Prinsep is shit, how is he even a Super Rugby player.
-
@Canes4life Wait til next season when Plumtree uses him at lock.
