To be fair to those on here though, it only has to be amusing to some for it to be in jest.
And the biggest tip from this is that the 'amusement' wasn't really geared towards Canterbury fans as a whole

Because he knew Ben Blair and saw him carve up at schoolboy level. I remember the conversation over a beer and @Canerbry does have a sense of humour.

Personally, things I say in jest still have a grain of truth.
Fact1: the Saders are and were such a great organisation that they can make very good players look like great players when plugged into their system
Fact2: the Cantablack era was not a great era in terms of the quality of the ABs in a wider conversation about the best of the best. Having said that few could argue that most of those players were without dispute the best players available for selection at that time
Fact3: as good as Ben Blair was at lower levels, he will never be considered an excellent All Black. Absolutely no shame in that, just like Shane Philpott should never feel bad that he wasn't a good All Black
Doesn't stop us taking the piss. I mean, Canty players get plenty of love on the board (GOAT, DC, Bridge, Goodhue......), just got to have a wee laugh at ourselves and each other from time to time

I thought Colin Farrell was owesome when he played for Auckland. That didn't end well either.
