Taranaki vs Northland
-
@J77 yup...
not sure the wind looks as strong as they were saying??
NOw Matich off too...this gonna be ugly
-
those are the kind of boxies we should be doing
-
We are lacking punch in backline. JB is running and looking for runners.
Need to get ball and hold for some phases.
-
we need to mark that blind better, we had 3 forwards there marking 3 backs, with Ross marking Waisake
-
That backline is tragic. Coach?
-
man they are so off-side, putting more pressure on our backs who look like they just met on the bus down

And speak different languages.
We are much better physically. But really slow off the ground, getting back to our feet.
Backline set moves a mess.
-
SOwakula isnt allowed to touch the ball at the back of the scrum unless he is taking it is he?
-
Think our backs need to stick to the basics, a few phases just through the hands rather than rtying inside balls and cut backs, we are making ourselves look silly.
Forwards are fronting up, throwing good numbers to the breakdowns and we are defending well.
Hohaia is getting up really quick on defence, not sure that one with Johnson was all his fault either, if Hohaia had pushed with him there wouldnt have been a hole
BOth thier tries from our errors, although you could feel it was coming.
INto the wind, which doesnt look huge, or possibly across a bit as well, means we will need to keep it in hand.
-
15 minutes of good, 25 minutes of fucking average. Just another day out for the Northland rugby team.
That coupled with more injuries makes it same old same old. Fun times.
-
This ref is doing a good job. A level above the guy we had for Auckland.
The key now is can we stay in the game. Lacking a bit of class but competing.
-
@kev yeah ref going well, not missing too much and is pretty consistent...although he and the TMO saw the knock in thier disallowed try, not sure how they all missed him playing it with his feet.
-
Oh awesome.
We’re fucked.
Don’t have the game or game breakers to come back from this.
-
Casual bullshit from one of your best players. Come on guys.
-
oh dear...
-
We’re a bunch of bloody slugs. Where’s the urgency.
-
We lack fitness. Blowing after 15 minutes. It translates into getting of the ground and urgency. How do they train and assess these guys?
-
Hohaia can sod off. Waste of space.
-
We are dumb.
-
I’d love to see some decent clean outs from Northland, we’re fucking looking at them inviting them to go for the turnover.
This is disgraceful now, where is the ticker from anyone in Blue?
Embarrassing, can’t watch any more.
-
Was there a high tackle on a Northland player in the lead up to the last Naki try (in the Naki half of the field)?
-
@Stargazer by Naholo...looked a little high
Man we look disorganished once it gets to the backs
-
Johnson is not up this level. Simple.
-
@kev HOhaia too...
-
why take off Gregory and bring on Hawkins???
take off one of your best attacking players and bring on a defensive 10...
-
@taniwharugby because the game is gone and he might hurt himself.
-
@kev yeah nah, not a good enough reason for me.
-
This is nothing more than a club team. I’m sorry, but I’m going against the flow of many opinions, this locals only policy is not working. We have a handful who are class surrounded by many who are very average.
-
@taniwharugby I know. We play like losers. Throw 50/50 passes. Run out of the line.
-
@J77 dunno, I think most are good enough, they just dont look cohesive, too much of a disconnect between the backs and forwards, then there are our tactics and some of the decision making
Forwards still going well at set peice, although look farked elsewhere, backs are all over the show....our 12/13 is well below this level.
-
There’s still 20 fucking minutes to go! God help us
-
@taniwharugby hmm sorry mate have to disagree, a few are good enough, the rest can take a hike. Would like to see the cheque books out next year, however limited our funding may be...
-
is that HAwkins down...?
-
-
@J77 now now...he should never have been signed in the first place, but you dont wanna see someone go out like that.
MIght be forced to give one of the young 10s a run now (Wiseguy or Nikau)

Agree with this. We are better than this. Do our Coaches work with these guys or do they rely on the club season. Looks like latter. If you get your structures right, you can at least compete. We play with no composure.

Haha speaking my mind bro, you have to with this mob.
Would like to see Wiseguy have a crack.
Dont wish anything bad on Hawkins though, just not a fit for this side unfortunately
-
He knocked that on at the turnover. But kick to the line and go to set piece.
-
@J77 our forwards have set a reasonable platform for us to launch from, but we have then fizzled out with error after error.
Need to push Gregory in to 12, if fit, Tua to 13, or even Hyland, if not injured.
Our 12/13 has been very poor today bar that good period on defence for about 12 phases in the 1st half.
