NBA season 2019/20

I genuinely think it's impossible to tip. No crowds or home court throws it wide open. Who knows how players will react as the season goes on and they are locked up for a longer period.
This might be the break the Bucks needed. I tipped the Lakers earlier in the year, thinking the Kobe emotion might be enough to lift them to the title. But in a sterile arena that emotional push ebbs away, you'd think.
But it wouldn't shock me if a team like Houston or Miami came from the clouds. Or a settled, experienced team like Toronto.

I can't see anyone outside Clips, Lakers or Bucks getting up, absent some serious injuries. Houston, OKC could steal a few games, but over 7 games will ultimately get found out.

I have a confession. I am not addicted to collecting basketball cards. Group breaks, buying individual cards, getting them graded, boxing boxes.
oh dear....But so fun.

@Bovidae Love it. All the other players will be rolling in with their LV, Gucci and Coach luggage, and Our Steve rocks up with some apples and what looks to be a rifle.
Also wearing scuffs and what looks like a dust mask

This was the accompanying article.
The NBA tweeted a photo of the Thunder’s arrival in Orlando. Chris Paul was pictured in a sweatsuit with at least three bags. Adams, from what we see in the photo, didn’t have a suitcase with him, but he sure had what appeared to be three bags of groceries. Anyone who’s followed him wouldn’t be the least bit surprised. The idea of Adams bringing his own food to Orlando is humorous and believable, considering the fact that some photos of some less-than-appetizing looking food being provided to players within the bubble were sent around on social media on Monday. Perhaps Adams had someone help with his luggage. Or maybe he made two trips. It’s also possible that he stashed some clothes in his guitar case or in the backpack he’s wearing… But truth be told, if we were to find out that he traveled to Orlando with three pairs of shorts, six t-shirts and two pairs of flip flops, nobody that follows the Thunder would be surprised.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The NBA's MVP race is over. So is the battle for every other individual regular-season trophy. The league told teams Friday that none of the seeding games will be taken into consideration for any postseason award, and that voting for those honors -- such as All-NBA, rookie of the year and defensive player of the year -- will be completed before the July 30 restart of the season at Walt Disney World. Typically, those votes are cast closer to the end of the regular season. So the postseason races are still going in many cases, but the individual award chases are now complete. "The decision to exclude seeding games from awards voting ensures a fair process in which players and coaches from all 30 teams will have the same opportunity to be honored as top performers for the regular season," the NBA wrote in a memo sent to teams Friday. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the memo. Only 22 of the league's 30 teams are participating in the NBA restart.

@Bovidae Greek Freak MVP then?
-
@ACT-Crusader Very likely.
Also from the ESPN article:
The league's decision -- it was not unexpected -- means that Milwaukee forward Giannis Antetokounmpo's campaign for back-to-back MVP awards technically ended more than four months ago when the season was suspended amid the coronavirus pandemic. Antetokounmpo won his first MVP award after averaging 27.7 points and 12.5 rebounds per game last season. This season, he's expected to be an MVP front-runner again with averages of 29.6 points and 13.7 rebounds for the Bucks -- who have the league's best record. The NBA's decision also means that New Orleans' Zion Williamson, who has appeared in only 19 games this season, won't get to make a late push to try to catch presumed top-rookie front-runner Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies.

No doubt.
My treble of Giannis, Ja and Luka (for MIP) is so close but I don't think Luka is going to get up.

Harrell or Lou Williams for 6th Man.

Not that I think he will get most improved, but Sabonis jump from last year to this has been a big reason why the Pacers might be a smokey for the playoffs.
From 14ppg, 9reb and 3 asst to 19 ppg, 12reb and 5

I love Sabonis.
I'm obviously biased, but I genuinely think Luka deserves this award. Going from 21.2, 7. 8 and 6.0 on 42. 7% shooting, to 28.7, 9.3 and 8.7 on 46. 1% shooting is a massive leap and so much harder to make than anything anyone else has done. He's just being penalised for being pretty awesome last year.

SGA has improved a lot this season as well. Never really given the MIP award much thought. JUst checked his stats
Clips 10.8 2.8 3.3
OKC 19.3 6.1 3.3 -

What are Pascal Siakam's stats vs last year??
17 / 7 / 3 last season to 23.5 / 7.5 / 3.5.
So great improvement and the big thing had been the leadership improvement too.
