The lack of an all rounder makes it harder for Starc to make the side. If they had a good 5th bowling option it would be easier to accept his inconsistency
Very good point.
Maybe they should reconsider the current policy of playing 3 keepers.... It's not like any of them are giving the scorers writers cramp of late. -
I love watching him bowl, what a player

Joe Root's shockingly out of touch.
Needs to start batting half a metre out of his crease or something because he's getting pinned back
Humilation for Captain Root. What a shocker. Out for a second-ball Duck in the Ashes at his home ground. Hard to see him regaining confidence in this series after that.
Ashes looking safe in Aussie hands.

Bloody hell you love to write them off! Lotta cricket to go yet.
That said: New Ball Hoff looks like he could take 10.

Australian bowlers need a morning where they demonstrate why they're keeping Starc out of the side.
Hazelwood delivering so far.

Bold call there - and I tend towards that line of thinking...
But I am quietly betting on England taking this Test - which means all-square.Smith should return in the next test, Labuschagne will probably retain his spot and one of Wade or Head will go. Plus, Warner has some runs under the belt now so you'd back him to start coming good. All-in-all advantage Aus.
BUT: the England (pace) attack is looking sharp. I wouldn't completely be writing them off just yet. They just need a few more guys to get some runs.
