OK, I'll say it - Guptill.

He's at 30 - would have dropped a bit during the World Cup - still higher than Lara though.

Gayle will surely be near the top of the run scorers - I wouldn't think he's in the top 10 for consistency, but I've been wrong before - four posts up in fact.

43rd - definitely not the man for this measure.

Shikhar Dhawan - probably a better bet than Gayle! 🙂

Chris is correct with Dhawan. de Kock is 11th, Roy and Bairstow don't have enough runs yet.

One left - this is the one that surprised me the most.

    Kohli 41.7%
    Amla 37.1%
    Kane 36.6%
    Root 36.3%
    AB de V 35.8%
    34.6%
    Shikhar Dhawan 34.1%
    du Plessis 33.9%
    Sir Viv 33.5%
    Greenidge 33.1%

Same criteria for entry - the all time top 100 run scorers - in order of strike rate

    117.00
    104.33
    101.09
    96.94
    96.37
    95.55
    95.20
    93.99
    93.50
    93.00

Bottom 5 shows how much ODIs have changed in recent years

    Greenidge 64.92
    Richardson 63.74
    Rameez Raja 63.31
    Haynes 63.09
    Mahanama 60.57
