We need another tall lock and/or another loosie with some decent height. With the squad thus far, we could field some pretty midget forward packs in terms of height!
I'd quite like to see us pick up the reserve Harbour half.
And we need at least one more 12 option. Pity McLeod didn't see more time there in the NPC.
Yep that's the Holes we need filled.
Brodie McAlister maybe a good bet as 3rd Hooker
Callum Grace for a LF/Lock role
Geoff Cridge maybe a Lock option or Sam Caird/Pari Pari Parkinson
I like Fatuli Paea. as a back up centre option
Rameka Poihipi/Dallas McLeod maybe the 2nd five options
I cant see much options out there for a another decent tall LF or a big ball carrier. Would like to see us Get Shannon Fizzell
Harry Allen,Fletcher Newell,Tamati Williams or Isileli Tu'ungafasi maybe for 2 of the Propping positions left to fill. -
@Steven-Harris wonder if they where considering looking at brendon o connor

@Jonty-lean based on 2 sources of insider knowledge, either the 9th or 12th of November.

@Chris when are the squad announced
Yeah that’s what I heard same as @Yeetyaah 9th or 12th Nov

@Chris From Ta$man:
Sam Moli also worth a look at hooker - good around the park, lineout throwing needs a bit of work - but a development option.
Sione Havili would be a good pick-up at openside. I'd rather him than Christie, but that ship seems to have sailed.
Isaac Salmon worth a look at tighthead - he went OK while Lomax was injured and was a good bench option. I think Ryan Coxon would be a good pick-up at loosehead, but the Chiefs may have the inside running there. I'm wondering also what Kane Hames' status is.
Struggle to think of a better available midfield option than Fetuli Paea.
If we need another wing, signing Tima Faingaánuku for a year wouldn't be the worst.
There's a few others that haven't featured much or at all this season that might be worth a glance, Te Ahiwaru Cirikadaveta as a big loose forward (he's a bit small for a Super lock), similarly Isaiah Miller. Rupena Parkinson as a midfielder.
I'd imagine Tom Sanders is somewhere in Razor's thinking. That Te Ariki Ben Nicholas seems like he might be surplus to the Canes requirements.

It Looks like Te Ariki Ben Nicholas is off to the Highlanders due to a Josh Ioane instagram post I saw on the Fern.
I wouldn't mind us signing Tima Faingaánuku
Te Ahiwaru Cirikadaveta. I forgot about he was in the Crusader Knights set up yeah agree about lock but not a bad LF option
I reckon they will go for McAlister as the 3rd Hooker
Props depends if they trust young props like Williams and Newell they have big futures but are only young maybe too soon.
I really hope we sign Fetuli Paea. I like his work rate and aggressive running style he will test defences.
As for Tom Sanders I think hes a decent player but I wouldn't want to risk him again hes been very injury prone.

@Chris I was thinking kianu kereru symes
Maybe he’s a good player
I think they will sign McAlister he debuted last year for the Crusaders and went ok he has been in the system for a few years Canterbury u/19s Crusader Knights etc -
@Jonty-lean It would really be a waste of talent if Kereru-Symes doesn't get a contract at one of the NZ franchises, but I'm afraid that the Crusaders will indeed stick with McAlister, although I'm not convinced he's better than Kereru-Symes, who was one of the few that impressed during the WR U20 Championship. Not sure whether Ray Niuia is returning to the Highlanders, but if he isn't, there might be a spot down South. The Canes already have 3 hookers; the Chiefs will probably keep Taukei'aho, so they'll have 3, too. Not sure who the 3rd hooker at the Blues will be; there might be a spot.

Ray Niuia
Supposed to be heading to the Blues.
I thought Samisoni Taukei'aho re-signed with the Chiefs?
Taukei'aho is enjoying his best season of rugby with ball in hand and is firmly putting himself into the starting picture for the Chiefs next year.

@Chris Heard Nigel Yalden on the radio this morning saying that the squads are announced "next Tuesday night" so maybe on the Breakdown show rather than staggered through the day like previous years?
Thanks mate that’s an interesting concept

He has according to that post from @WillieTheWaiter. A no-brainer to me.
Polwart should be the Chiefs hooker on the bubble. I think he lacks size and had an injury-plagued season.
-
@Daffy-Jaffy classic sky move. Kind lame for those who don't have sky.
-
McAllister has signed for 2-3 years. I’ve heard we’ve got Sione havilli too. I’ve heard a massive rumour but I just can’t see it being true. Someone from the World Cup final.

@chchfanatic Any news on that Fijian flanker?
