As there doesn't appear to be a dedicated thread. There will be some tasty Champions League games coming up after the draw was announced.
QUARTER-FINAL DRAW
QF1: Real Madrid or Manchester City v Lyon or Juventus
QF2: RB Leipzig v Atletico Madrid
QF3: Napoli or Barcelona v Chelsea or Bayern Munich
QF4: Atalanta v Paris Saint-GermainSEMI-FINAL DRAW
QF1 v QF3
QF2 v QF4Champions League last-16 second legs: August 7-8 - these will be played at the home grounds as before, behind closed doors.
Champions League quarter-finals: August 12-15 (Lisbon)
Champions League semi-finals: August 18-19 (Lisbon)
Champions League final: August 23 (Lisbon) -
@KiwiPie Originally all remaining games were going to be in Lisbon. Understandably, RM were keen on that idea for their away QF.
One-off games mean it's all on the day. The other factor is teams like PSG aren't playing. Bayern now fall into that category too.

@Bovidae I'm happy about that. They play some great football and it will be interesting to see if Bielsa-ball will work in the premier league. Brentford now have their destiny in their own hands - the only English team to have won every league game since the restart.
FA Cup semis this weekend - with no crowd it seems even less important and 4 big teams so no romance of the Cup either.

Pretty surprised at both results. Happy to be playing for some silverware this season though.

@Hooroo I watched both FA Cup games and Arsenal and Chelsea thoroughly deserved their victories. Arsenal rode their luck a little but had a great plan for City and defended really well, even David Luiz.
United were absolutely awful, no clue at all and had no idea how to progress up the pitch. Chelsea did what they had to do and de Gea was calamitous once again.
@dogmeat Fulham still have a chance of automatic promotion!
-
@KiwiPie Beaten home and away by the bottom team in the League. Those 6 points dropped will cost us promotion.
I'm really conflicted about promotion. Obviously you want your team in the Premiership and there's always the worry of player retention if you don't make it. Plus it's a really tough battle to get promoted out of the Championship and if not now - when. Still I fear under the current ownership we would be in for a horrible slog just to avoid relegation and that's no fun.
Leeds deserve to go up. They had a mid season falter but since then have been imposing. It would be awful for WBA to spend every round in the top 2 except for the one that counts. They can't afford to slip up against QPR because the Bees have Barnsley. Wouldn't it be ironic if having done the double over us they (Barnsley) did us a massive favour?
We had the toughest schedule post the break but couldn't beat any of the teams above us so play-offs seems fair.

That championship promotion battle was intense - all 3 of them didn't win. Having won every game after lockdown, Brentford got to the point of needing one win out of 2 to go up and lose both games. Fulham didn't win on the final day leaving West Brom to crawl over the line as automatically promoted.
Incredible finish for the final play-off spot.
Forest 3 point clear of Swansea and with a goal difference of +11, Swansea on +6. Forest at home and Swansea away. Seemingly no way for Swansea to get in the play-offs. Forest lose 1-4, Swansea win 1-4 and Swansea are in by a single goal. As a Notts County fan this makes me laugh!
Man U only draw against West Ham - Chelsea are pumped 5-3 by Liverpool. A draw will be enough for United and Chelsea to be in the top 4. Leicester need a win to get there as they are playing United. Chelsea play Wolves - if Chelsea lose, Leicester finish 4th with a draw.

-
@KiwiPie we were never in the hunt on the last day. West Brom's goal difference much better than ours.
We dropped 13 points over the season against the bottom four teams FFS! The same as we dropped against the top 4 (including Cardiff).
I hate the play-offs

@mariner4life Be better if there was a crowd to give it some atmosphere. A fitting end to a high scoring game at home against Chelski.

Their entire fan base who aren’t mid life football warriors who’ve never set foot in Liverpool were there to see it!

Was a good game to watch, definitely. Players a bit young to support, but given none of them are from a Liverpool, highly likely a few of them are closet supporters ...
