Oh god, not another Liverpool fan.
They have one hell of a team and are looking super strong. They also have probably the biggest band wagon on the entire planet.
As opposed to all those rusted on Chelsea fans
From the early 2000s
Or the ManU fans looking for another team...
We’ll wait. Liverpool still has a title to lose this year, which might be reward enough.
SAD
Not as sad as people being rabid Liverpool fans for a litany of bullshit reasons to try and cover up that they were the best team when they were young, and everybody likes to follow a successful club ...
Take a calming breath mate
Im zen neutral bra ....
Nah gammon bruss

@MajorRage shit man, we grew up in NZ (mostly), it's tough to have properly "legit" reasons to support a foreign club team.
For me, I started supporting Liverpool after a young touring scouser was billeted with us and he gave me a jersey as a present. Sure it helped that i was a mad John Barnes fan already and the team was pretty sharp, but having the jersey cemented it.
I hope Liverpool ditch all ambitions to win other trophies this year and focus on the prem. Not sure we have the squad depth to chase 3 cups.
Yawn ...
If Liverpool were mid-table at the time, you'd never have thought of them again. Although in likelihood, you probably wouldn't have got the jersey either.
-
@MajorRage umm, given that the guy we billeted was from Liverpool, I think I probably would have still gotten the jersey.
But my question is how do expect a 10yr old from the other side of the world to make a decision about who to support? Hours of research into some aspect of club history? Maybe a series of visits to the local clubs to see which group of 10yr olds he best identifies with?
You support the team your Dad supports (not an option for me), maybe your mates support, a team thrust on you somehow (eg a jersey), a certain player (Barnes for me), or maybe just a team you think / know is good.
At the end of the day, who fucking cares?

And in news from earlier today England were held to just four nil by Kosovo, admittedly Kosovo had home advantage. In addition a result from a qualifying match in the African Cup of Nations saw some outfit called Eswatini pushed Senegal to four one. Are they some newly discovered tribe or perhaps they are the African equivalent of the Rock of Gibralta or Vatican City perhaps?

See if I read that and didn't know the score I would have thought Kosovo had won.

@Hooroo I was being a little facetious. England playing pipsqueaks like Kosovo (ranked 114th by FIFA compared to England's 4th) should have seen the score balloon out to something like eight or nine.
And here is why football will always be a much bigger sport than rugby.
It just doesn't work like that. You can dominate a game and lose it, and will quite often draw it. The little guys are always a chance. Always.
There was a lot of feelgood about this match too - Kosovo were hugely welcoming to England fans - I don't think this has ever happened before!

I did understand that but it was how you had the score. It was 0-4 not 4-0. Another football nuance.

The whole of qualifying for the Euros looks like guaranteeing that none of the bigger countries will miss out. Hard to call who will be favourites - all of France, Spain, England, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands have pretty good teams with some weaknesses and there is Croatia, Ukraine, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Russia lurking around as well.

of course they can't miss out, with the tournament being spread across the continent, a big side missing out would be a disaster.
Changing the entire format of the tournament looks like a stupid idea from the outside

It's a one off to celebrate the anniversary isn't it? The next one will be back to a single host I think.
In other news, Pochettino has been sacked. I wonder how desirable Spurs will look to managers.
-
There will be plenty of interest for Pochettino's services in Spain and at Bayern Munich.
Expect the likes of Eriksen to be queuing up to leave in January.
We have four first team players running down their current deals including Eriksen and Aldewiereld. 25 points from his last 24 league games is unacceptable. And he looked clueless as to where to go to turn things around. Sadly he had to go.
