Stormers v Crusaders
-
@KiwiMurph are some nasty comments on there, in response to some allegedly nasty stuff.
-
@taniwharugby this could turn into a shit storm if true. Players allegedly involved look to be Ennor and Havili.
-
@Canes4life and Bridge (allegedly)
-
@KiwiMurph Not good considering recent events (Folau).
-
@KiwiMurph I didnt see Ennors name, but 3 players who were possibles for the RWC, who could well have just put a line through thier names if true (as stated in the tweets)
I see NEwshub asking for the tweeter to PM them...

Rugby Pass slamming the TMO in their Team of the Week
"13 Marius Jonker (TMO)
In the absence of a stand out 13 this week let’s give this position to the TMO in the Stormers Crusaders game. He certainly kept the Stormers in the game in this very tight and tense match. In a complete lack of appreciation of the laws of the game, Jonker got on the talkback to Nick Berry to rule a forward pass to deny Sevu Reece a try that would have had the champions out by a decent margin. The ball clearly travelled backward out of Ennor’s hands and floated forward with the momentum of the player. It won’t have an effect on the competition standings but it makes any rugby fan uneasy that this official could potentially be the TMO in a World Cup knockout game and make a gaffe like this."

Personally, I think it's wrong to post the name of the players anywhere (including the Fern), because they're all allegations from 2 or 3 people (from 2 locations, a bar and what's supposed to be McDonalds) and I haven't seen a single shred of evidence online. That doesn't mean it isn't true, but at the moment, a lot of people are willing to spam the alllegations all over social media without any proof. There are plenty of Crusaders supporters in Cape Town. Maybe it wasn't a player at all?
-
@taniwharugby I think that alleged beer incident was somewhere else, in a bar?
-
@Stargazer ah ok, so more people are circling the wagons?
-
@taniwharugby "Certain groups" on twitter and instagram have gone viral, re-tweeting and re-posting the same allegations and screenshots from each other, tagging media, but not adding more info or evidence. Also via comments on photos on the instagram accounts from the team and players.

@Stargazer yeah I see them tagging Adidas and BNZ as well telling them to pull thier sponsorship...as you say, very little in anything that has been posted except accusations, I expect an investigation will have already started.

This is looking more and more like an organised twitter outrage feeding on its own ignorance. The McDonalds incident is clearly spurious on the evidence provided thus far and the hilarious nature of South Africans whining about the racism of New Zealanders!
"Please #adidas stop giving those nasty All Blacks money so we can beat them. Waahhhh"

Crusaders management have denied accusations that players made homophobic 'attacks' against patrons of a Cape Town McDonald's outlet over the weekend. The team are currently flying from South Africa back to Christchurch, but NZ-based management has spoken to travelling officials, who confirmed the incident took place, but not as detailed by complainants. The franchise is expected to issue a formal statement today.
