@No-Quarter that has supposedly been proven that many use social media and seek the likes to give them a hit of natural highs

I always used to call him Bonkers Jonkers because some of the rulings he made on the field were so weird. Then they give him a position that makes bad decision making even more obvious.
Or maybe he really is a cheat / corrupt? Not for me to SAy.
There is not enough bandwidth to list the history of SA referee injustices against the Crusaders.

Ouch. That's harsh Snowy
Given where the pass took place, the ball clearly traveled forward a good few yards so one can understand the inclination to want to call it as forward.
But one would expect a TMO to know the laws of the game well enough to know that it is actually about whether the ball leaves the passing player "backwards out of the hand". So yes, disappointing and frustrating that Jonkers got it wrong.
I am pleased that SANZAAR seems to be adopting the habit of calling out incorrect TMO rulings. A ref has to make up his mind in an instant. A TMO though has the benefit of replays, multiple angels etc and it irks me when they get it wrong - in law. -
So does NZR influence over refs extend to SA police, maccas and bar owners to deny CCTV footage?
I saw a post on Tweeter claiming it is taking so long because they do not want to prejudice the criminal charges that are coming (assume that must apply to both separate allegations)

Wayne Barnes got this one wrong at Eden park a while ago too.
Wait for a terrible call like this to influence a game at the RWC and see what happens. The standard of refs is poor at the moment, and the laws don't help them.

@Billy-Webb Yeah - to be honest, it's an inexplicably terrible call by Marius.
I can understand some fans not yet understanding the "back out of the hands" rule, but it should be pretty basic for a top referee. The absolute giveaway is that Ennor continues to run and the ball is always clearly behind him. Clearly!
I simply can't comprehend how he got that wrong.

It's actually really simple. The law says that you can't pass the ball forward NOT that the ball cant travel forward.
I can't understand how that concept is difficult for even the public to understand let alone commentators and referees.
ONLY the pass is to be judged, not where the ball ends up. -
@Crucial True - but, a casual fan who hasn't watched the videos explaining how a legitimate pass can travel forward can be forgiven for getting that one wrong.
But, for Marius that is a shocker - he'd have been better off in a nightclub spitting beer!

My point is that you shouldn't need to watch videos if you understand the words 'forward pass'
It would be quite simple for our so called TV analysts to point out that out. Just say 'nothing to do with where the ball ends up, solely on whether the player's action is to pass the ball toward the opposition line'
People really overcomplicate this. -

Wayne Barnes was the ref on the field and overruled TMO Ayoub. Incorrectly.
Berry should have overruled Bonkers. Correctly.

Yup. That's what I am saying nzzp
And you can bet the farm there will be at least one of these in the RWC. You just have to hope that it isn't against the team you're supporting.
