Waratahs vs Crusaders

Fuck yes. Made the Crusaders look very average.

Well at least we know how to beat the Crusaders now...
How?
They played really badly, they lost, Tahs didn't win - so how do we beat the saders?
You have to give credit to the Tahs. Their tactics were excellent.
The high bombs worked a treat and they pinned the Crusaders in their own half for basically the whole second half.
-
@KiwiMurph Yes but normally that would not, at all, stress the saders. Kicking to their back three is normally a stupid thing to do, in fact vs most NZ SR teams it's dumb. But saders were obviously off, I'm going to go out and say that this is a direct result of the shit in CHCH, that was a team that is normally so so good. But they weren't tonight, and (I know the Ozzies are going to poo poo) the Tahs didn't win as much as the saders were totally off - they've been totally off before but never for an entire 80.
-
Obviously the Crusaders were mentally not there tonight, after what must have been a very tough week.
Having to play with 3rd and 4th choice LH prop, Franks out, Barret and Mo'unga rested, and you know things are going to be even more difficult. Wet and slippery conditions did the rest.
It looks like Sanders will be out for a while again. The poor bloke is stringing the awful injuries together.
Both Makalio and Todd with huge eggs under an eye. Can't have seen much during the later stages of the 2nd half.Have never seen so many handling errors from the Crusaders (the Tahs had quite a few, too). Almost all guilty of dropped balls, forward passes and missed tackles.
Havili was by far the best of the Saders.I've seen a lot of Tahs' fans cheering on social media. Think they beat a giant. They didn't. The Tahs weren't that good and the real Crusaders didn't turn up. The Tahs beat their shadow.
-
@Stargazer Yeah the saders are an awesome team but still human. They'll still win the series tho, and will not at all use the massacre in their home town as an excuse - but it 100% is, especially for those with kids that were in lockdown.
-
Tahs are back babbbbbbeeeeeeeee
-
@KiwiMurph Exactly it isn't hard to give credit where it's due. Well done to the Tahs even if the Crusaders weren't themselves and it wasn't their strongest outfit on the field. It's never easy beating any Crusaders side.

Narrator: they were not

One thing. I hope never to see Cameron get a start again. All psychology aside, he's just a very average player. The Crusaders need to think about finding another back-up to Richie and Hunt. Cameron isn't good enough. Who's their no. 4? (I mean, other than Bateman) It wasn't just bad execution; it was taking the wrong options.
I think starting Havili was the right decision, he's still better than Jordan.
If they want to start Jordan, they should IMO take Ennor off. Maybe Jordan on the left wing; Bridge on the right? -
Would have been fucking awful conditions. High 20s here today and I'm sunburned from running the line at our charity day ($12k raised thanks for asking).
The storms last night made the grounds heavy and it would have been steamy as fuck, then raining.
I'll take it.

Of course they won. They applied a heap of pressure and the Crusaders wilted under the pressure.

@NTA I was listening to the radio commentary. For at least 15-20 minutes, an alarm was going off and you could hear a loudspeaker with the message "Please, evacuate" (etc). Exactly when the radio commentators were saying they had to stop the call because they were told to evacuate as well, the alarm stopped and they could sit down again and continue commentating. It was really odd.

Yeah how dare the Tahs fans cheer when their team beats a two time defending champion on a 19 game win streak.....
