Because the teams below them are going backwards as well.
Lions with a good win but drop to 3rd because West coast had a better win
Top 7 looks almost sorted, then you have 2 teams on 36 and 4 teams on 32 (including my Saints).
Saints play Adelaide next week and then the blockbuster against the Blues.

Looks like Brisbane dodged a bullet there exchanging him for 2 first round picks. -

Interesting weekend really. Richmond belting Collingwood (the final score flattered the Magpies) finally has everyone thinking they are a lock for at least a prelim again.
Adelaide lost, and are now looking over their shoulder. The bulldogs are coming home fast, and Ratten has the Saints up and about as well. And look, Adelaide host the Saints on the weekend, delicious. The Bulldogs are coming to the the Gabba.
Geelong came back to life, and should have a lock on a top 2. GWS actually have 4 games left they would bank on winning, so aren't out of top 4 calculations yet.
Good to see the Suns put up a fight yesterday, when most had assumed they had packed up for the year. If they can keep this team together they have enough talent to turn things around within a couple of years.

They reckon when he was at Brisbane he had over a million dollars debt to gambling ,
Collingwood paid out his debt to secure him on top of his big salary, and now within a few months he is back in the same sort of debt plus has other issues -

They reckon when he was at Brisbane he had over a million dollars debt to gambling ,
Collingwood paid out his debt to secure him on top of his big salary, and now within a few months he is back in the same sort of debt plus has other issuesyep, that's pretty much exactly what i heard.

Also heard Eddie is pretty pissed, Dane promised him this and that if they helped him , and went against his word,
Eddie doesn’t like it when things don’t go his way

And from a Richmond point of view, remember Collingwood were chasing hard after Tom Lynch, offering him more than us , when Tom picked Richmond, Collingwood changed direction quickly and went after beams instead
It was a double loss

All good so far. But I wouldn’t be earning my mod wage if I didn’t send out a reminder given these things can sometime take on a life of their own.

Another good win to the Tigers in bad weather. If we improved our accuracy we'd be smashing it.

Lions win a good game v the Dogs. Geez Bontempelli is some player, he damn near got the Dogs home by himself. Still 3rd, but the top 3 all on the same wins now.
We get the Gold Coast next week. Even though they always lift for Brisbane, you would think the Lions should be too good. Then it's the faltering Geelong, and then a blockbuster with Richmond (we're a blockbuster again!)
It's looking very much like a Richmond v West Coast GF.
Hard to see any team forcing their way in to the 8 now, i reckon finals are locked in.

I think it’s pretty open to be honest,
Plenty of little twists and turns could happen over the next few weeks , Richmond have to play 2 sides above them on the ladder in 3 weeks , at the g which helps .
But 1 loss and they are out of the 4. Even Carlton won’t be easy this week in their resurgence, they hate us with a passion and would love nothing more.The perfect scenario for us would be to the top 4 to stay as it is and we get Geelong at the g first week of the finals. They get a bit spooked about playing us there .
