Henry is so journeyman.

Don’t think I’ve seen a bowler who can vary so much, on one hand he can rip through teams on the other he dished up shit. Often in the same over..
-
Fuck Ferguson is fast.
Cleans up the Bangle to trouble us today, maybe he was tired but I don’t think he even saw the ball. -

I do think they need to accept that Henry is good (sometimes very good) for 6 overs at the top of the innings but that's generally it.
So who bowls his remaining 4? Perhaps he has to bowl a straight 10......?

Or dont pick a number 10 who cannot bowl 10.....

That would be my preferred option

We've got a batting line-up that could flounder us a world cup on their day, but I don't think we've got the bowlers - other than Boult.
Lochie is quick, but inconsistent.
Matt Henry can bowl a decent opening spell, but doesn't have enough variations to be a decent option at the death.
Neesh can't bowl a consistent line - he's straying down leg regularly.
Timmy's stats are very poor since the last CWC.
CdG is cannon fodder unless conditions suit him.
Santner is ok as a spinner, but he's no world beater in terms of taking wickets.
Ish can't bowl six good deliveries in an over - and hence is under pressure from Astle.

Probably your most accurate post ever. For the love of god Trent stay fit.

One small thing to count towards Henry is that he bowls up a storm in england.

That's not really true in white-ball cricket.
He bowled up a storm in the county championship, in the second division. with the red duke.
His record with the white kookaburra was mediocre.
Kent, 2018:
First Class: 11 matches, 75 wickets at 15.48
List A: 11 matches, 16 wicket at 34.33 (econ 5.55)I'd still have him over Southee though.
If I was to make a change, it wouldn't be Southee (or Bracewell). I'd like it if Milne returned, Ferguson and Boult to open, Milne to bowl first change and middle overs. All 3 capable of bowling at the death.

Who's our best bowler when it comes to bowling yorkers? Whoever that is, save them for the final 10 overs.
The BCs (and ground keepers) also have to accept that spin bowling is the way forward in ODI and T20s.
-
@Chris-B said in Black Caps v Bangladesh:
@Rapido Milne played a T20 game a few days ago.
Yeah.
I expect him to make the squad actually, but as 5th seamer (at expense of Bracewell).
My preference would be him in the starting 11, as I said above, if he is in reasonable form.
I have no idea where Milne stands in Gary Stead's pecking order.

Here is a (stupidly small sample size) list of our recent ODI bowling in England.
I chose since the end of last world cup (as that is when England got good at ODIs after Bayliss took over). This would also include the Champions Trophy v whoever we played (I have no recollection of that tournament).
and the complete record for the same time period:

Agree with that. I think Henry's ability to take early wickets in combination with Boult should put him ahead of the pack, as early wickets are going to be key to stopping teams getting 370+
We lack quality death bowlers - I think a lot of teams do, it's nearly impossible bowling in the final 10. I think Boult and Ferg are our best bet to close out the innings at the moment.

Well yeah with the way the game is now any over for under 10 runs in the final 10 overs is a great effort.
