@canefan I saw one comment on FB froma guy there saying 'my son has played in worse rain than this in Wellington and the ABs game would have been finishing about now, they could have played'
Obviously the authorities didn't want people moving around in the city. But it's a shame they couldn't play the game earlier in the day if they knew the storm would hit later in the evening

been in a bunch of tropical cyclones. had the eye of Winston go right over us, 2016, a 35min calm lull before the lethal destruction started slamming us again from the other direction. Despite all the forecasts you never know where they are going to go. Or when. They speed up, slow down, go sideways, even backtrack. The forecasting is not exact.

Well, it’s pretty bad.
We haven’t left but there is flooding in our city, nearer the river, so we are now hoping that the flooding doesn’t extend around to our area.
Having said that, we put the car on the 2nd floor of the wife’s work, and put down a barrier for flooding, so said fuck it and started drinking.
Beer and chips right now.

Drinking beer is a great strategy for seeing off a Super Typhoon. Stay safe!

Cheers, our apartment has multiple floors, so if it is that bad, we’ll just go camp on the floors above. Plus the wife’s work is literally 300 meters away, so we can just take over her office. Their (and our other local) convenie is still open!

What took you so long?
Reiterate those saying "stay safe".

Honestly, I'm think I'm mostly happy that you have stayed away from those "instant donuts" you said you had.
That shit sounded disgusting...

Ha ha.
We opened a bottle of Faiveley (Macon villages) Bourgogne blanc and we have some bread, Brie, ham, salami, and salad going right now (while watching to see if the river bursts it’s banks).
Still have the donuts on standby though.
Went for reccy to see if the flooding was near us, and the 7-11 is still open. Can still get beer and a freshly made fried ‘nana’ chicken if you want.

I don’t do as much of the social media stuff as I used to , but when I do , when it comes to the new crack down in the tackle area , nh fans seem to be more ok with it than sh fans which is interesting.
No sarcasm intended, or Saying who is right or wrong , but there seems to be very different outlooks on how the game should be played and officiated?

Interesting, though may change significantly if one of their blokes get a card for a borderline high shot in a knock out match.

May that have to do with the fact that all players who received a suspension aren't from Europe? The only European player to be cited was Piers Francis and he got off. Now that Bundee Aki has been red carded, they can still say he's a (Samoan) Kiwi.
