@donsteppa Thanks for letting us know. Yours being the only post about the game (and only after it has concluded) perhaps indicates exactly how much interest there is in women's cricket. Still jamming one up those Aussies is something to be mightily pleased about.

I commented but just to humour him.

@mn5 Hell, just found out it was at it was at McLean Park as well. Wonder what happened to the rain that gererally falls to ruin cricket there? Still there is the Mens game to come so maybe there is still a chance of a rain washout. As the old saying goes "to end a drought in HB just schedule an international cricket match"!

The White Ferns win game two with a French cut off the last ball of the innings for a four wicket win.
they bowled really well, and should have won by more. Made a mess of the last over after getting 4 off the first ball and only needing 5 off 5. Still, a win is a win, we'll take it particularly missing Suzie Devine

@bovidae Goodness, that's a massive percentage of the total in a one day game. Did he take a walking single off the last ball of ever over to hog the strike?
He did face about half of the total balls bowled, allowing for the 11 wide deliveries and no ball.

An interesting scorecard for Pakistan in ODI 2 against SA overnight. Pakistan lost by 17 runs chasing 342, but Fakhar Zaman gets 193 of their 324 runs (off 155 balls). Their next highest scorer got 31 with the ever dependable extras on 25.
I see South Africa wore pink last night, after both teams wore the same uniform the previous game.

There is a five run penalty if dekock pretends to receive the ball at his stumps and it goes no where near them. But don't know about this situation. I suggest you keep playing till the ball is dead but the ludicrous "spirit of cricket" might run interference to that logic.

@booboo breast cancer day was always designated for this game. I do wonder about the importance of different uniforms when the sport was founded with one uniform for all teams. Basically if you insist on different uniforms you're the dumbest person you know🙂

Didn't know about the breast cancer thing.
Care to explain your last sentence?
Am wondering if the people who organise uniforms and do the publicity shots may be dumberer.

@booboo the article you posted focussing on a uniform clash that has no effect on the sport or how the game is played. Dumb. If you need cricket teams in different uniforms to experience a game, you're dumb.
Can't say I agree.
Why have colours at all then? Just play in whites?
Whilst it has no effect on the play it adds to the spectacle. Pretty damn dumb to have two teams turn out in exactly the same colours.

Test cricket must be terribly confusing for you...

@booboo Pink is where it's at, and I assume it started with McGrath. ND have been wearing that colour shirt for over a decade.
Pink = breast cancer
I saw a Gruen Tranfer episode (do you get that in NZ? It's a show by and about advertising execs discussing the tricks of the trade) a few years ago about the pink branding, and just how powerful a brand it is,, and how jealously it's guarded, and how much money it makes specifically for breast cancer (no other cancers, just breast cancer). So should have realised it's significance. Dumb.
