@Bovidae Yeah Henin was 28ish for her second retirement (was due to injury).
Yes. 26 and the world no.1 when Henin first retired, and not due to injury.
Yao Ming was 30 maybe 31 (injury related as well)
The tallest human being I've ever seen up close.

Was James Ryan that carrot top? He's a doctor now right or maybe a lawyer?
Toeava left too soon prolly.
That tall Chinese basketball player was a superstar for a brief time, what happened to him?James Ryan got a law degree. Now has a very big time career in finance/commercial banking.

Glad someone mentioned him. He looked class, and a lock for a long career. Sad to see him finish.

Like the Jasin Goldsmith call. Where did he go anyway? Was it an extremely early injury enforced retirement?
There was a kid called Brendon Daniel. Ridiculously promising BOP winger at the onset of the prefessional era I think, who went overseas at something like 20 and as far as I know never returned to play but nor did he make it wherver he went, surprisingly. Anyone else remember him?
Another in that sort of category was an open side from Canterbury called Greg Smith in around 1994/95. Crazy promise then disappeared.

- Craig Dowd
- Derren Witcombe
- Carl Hayman
- James Ryan
- Norm Maxwell
- Victor Vito
- Luke Braid
- Steven Luatua
- David Kirk (c)
- Luke McAlister
- James Lowe
- John Schuster
- Craig Innes
- Charles Piutau
- Matthew Ridge
Someone will probably come up with better picks for 7, 10 (McAlister takes his rightful place at 12 then), and 11.
Nick Evans at 10

@mn5 Actually Kahui is a good one for leaving too soon. Although, he had an impressive list of achievements for his short career.
Was one of those achievements being the greatest Foodbill in modern AB history?

Goldsmith: yep injury.
I recall I was at an early season game at Eden Park where he broke his leg very badly. Either that ended it all or he never fully recovered and struggled to come back. Will have to google.
