In late breaking news, Crotty got through 80 minutes without injury.

Kind of not breaking news, if you know what I mean

Not a memorable game from Taufua. Couldnt make an impact against the big Sharks forwards.

    ESPN stats:

    Made 6 tackles, missed 4

    3 runs for 6 metres

It's like Rueben Thorne all over again

Franks may not make yards ball in hands but he’s got some of the safest hands around. He takes some tough passes standing quite flat and deep

One of the best games I’ve seen Franks play in ages

Something that doesn't really mean a lot but I found odd... Why did the crusaders run out first at the start of the match?

We’ve done it that way at home all season. Unsure why

Who is the defence coach for the Crusaders?

Razor takes a lead role We have ROG as backs coach and Jason Ryan as forwards coach.
Also have Brad Mooar and Andy Goodman as Assistants.

Our attack has been humming over the last few games. We’ve scored 173 points in the last 4 games!

If Razor gets the Crusaders up again this year, and it looks likely, I think we should get him in the AB setup.

That defence was like the old days of the Crusader s

If I were razor I’d be biding my time, no point in jumping on the foster/ McCleod train. He’s an all black head coach in waiting

Problem with that is they already have Foster penciled in.

Agree, it’s a big problem... I can’t see foster being a raging success.

No hurry for razor. Keep being successful at the crusaders, build a great team around yourself with Jason Ryan, Mooar etc and wait for an opportunity.

I remember thinking the same thing about Hansen, as did a fuck of a lot of punters. I'll trust the system whichever way they go

Franks, Whitelock, Todd, Hall, Crotty, Bridge and Ennor are the ones who stood out last night. I like what I have seen of Ennor. He is a great prospect IMO. He was playing centre during last year's U20 Championship. A future All Black (post RWC) ?

Hopefully that sealed Ennor's spot in the 23 for the next game, or two. I expect he'll be an absolute stand out for Canterbury in the NPC this year.

@cgrant Todd was probably the man of the match for me. I though Read and Havili were among the stand outs as well.

It was great to see Read launching a few big charges up the middle.

Was a terrible crowd, which I expected after quite a few friends told me they were going to wait for the semi final.

No big screen for replays was a disgrace. It wasn’t even that windy.

@sammyc I guess the other issue is the Crusaders are victims of thier own success too, had they played the Sharks earlier in the year and had they won or puches the 'saders, maybe more people would have turned up expecting a tight match.

Wonder if it will sell out this week or many hold off wanting to go to the final, even if this weekend would be for all intents and purposes, the final.

Whats with the $75k appearance fee?

The sharks get paid $75k for making the final 8 and travelling to NZ and the Crusaders get to pay them to come here as a reward for finishing 1st!

So it would actually have been more beneficial ($$$wise) for the Crusaders to be playing a NZ side.

"Normally" a team would make way more than that from the gate wouldn't they and they'd keep all the profit, so the $75K is so that the other contributing team to the match get some coin as well?

The poor crowds is just a message to the council to sort their shit out and get a decent stadium built. And fair enough too, it really sucks that Cantabs have had to put up with that thing for so long now.

As a digression I didn't see stadia bursting at the seams in the 2 "participation prize" semi finals either.

Thought these equality of outcome home venues were introduced to bolster local engagement

Ennor seems to have put on a few kilograms of muscle without losing his speed. He was impressive in his outing against the Sharks.
