Agree that Seta will be the hardest to replace. He was a great poach from the Chiefs!
Like Hall, he was a bit average at Super level before going to the Crusaders. I had no issue with him leaving, would have chipped in for the removal company - then he turned around and put in two years of stellar performances. Grrr.

One of many articles today on Stuff on the Crusaders talks about how many of the squad are contracted for 2019. Reads as though only Crockett, Samu and Timanivalu are off.
In terms of ‘frontliners’, that’s about right.
Seta is the biggest loss because I don’t think we have a like for like in the squad or on the horizon like him. He had been excellent for us this year. He created many try scoring opportunities with his running and passing game. He just made very good decisions whilst being a tough cover for opposition defences.
Yeah probably not a direct replacement for his line breaking ability but Brayden Ennor is also a wing-cum-centre and may well end up being a better player.
Ennor isn't a wing cum centre.
He's a centre/fullback temporarily filling in in on the wing because he is still just a pup.

So he's a wing-cum-centre then. He's been playing wing for Canterbury and the Crusaders but is a centre and I think he'll play there for Canterbury in a couple of weeks. OK he can play fullback as well.

@chris Rameka has done his ACL and will miss most of next season. A shame as he’s a great kid
He just posted this on instagram

@stargazer a bloody shame as he was going to be playing 12 for Canterbury. Great kid with a good attitude who works very hard at his game. He’ll be back.
-
I assume this is an academy contract and not a full contract, but note the title. A Kiwi born and raised kid, and they call it poaching.
Anyway, I've only done a quick search on google and I couldn't find out much about him in addition to what has already been written in this article. So, I don't know at which age he moved from NZ to Western Australia. I found his FB profile and it says he's from Porirua.

That's a shocking example of clickbait titles. The article itself is very reasonable (and I found it quite interesting), noting that the school had brought him in on a scholarship and always expected him to do so since he is a kiwi kid. Interesting to note that that is now common practice in Queensland, might explain why the reds don't have decent playmakers anymore.

I'm all for bringing 'back' the first-five but not so keen on developing more guys for the Wallabies ala Pete Samu, with this Frost kid. For a kid with his pedigree who must now be 19 or more to not have made the Canterbury squad to me indicates he's either gone back to Australia, never actually arrived, or is badly injured.
-
Found a story on Fox Sports from around the same time (Oct 17) which tells us this:
italicised textIn signing a three-year development contract with the eight-time Super Rugby champions, Frost became the youngest Australian to be signed to the Crusaders and will head to New Zealand at the end of the year after completing his studies.
-
@shark Who pays for kids to attend these Crusaders' academies? Unless kids like Frost are paying to attend, I can't really see the point in investing in Australians - and, given his father works for the ARU, probably quite staunch Australians.
-
@shark he played colts for Lincoln University. He is inthe Canterbury under 19 squad. He played 5-6 games in div 1 while Morris and Dalziel we’re away with NZU. He’s on a 3 yr crusaders academy contract. Great athlete who has just turned 19 and a couple of years off mitre 10 cup. Not many of these kids play for Canterbury inside the 3 years in the academy. Apparently he has the academy record over 10metres.
-
@chchfanatic OK he's about a year younger than I'd have expected. I hope we get some value out of him before he pisses off back to Australia.
-
@chris-b you don’t pay. Your selected. 10 spots every year. I’m pretty sure this years 10 are frost , Cullen grace , Luke Donaldson, Humphrey shield, Rico Syme, Matt letoga , Fergus Burke , Shilo Klein , burns mills and manaaka Boyle-tiatia
