Been listening to Zenyatta Mondatta the past couple of days..... My favourite track off the album.
One of my favourite songs instrumentally, such great baseline and drums.
The Police were such a good power trio. Was just listening to this the other day !
A amazingly talented group of guys that just gelled. Sting obviously went a bit sappy but they could rock with the best of them in their day.
Loads of diverse stuff in their brief career. I also love this wee number.
Yes, that is a great tune. I love how they had that post punk vibe and infused reggae guitars into their sound.
In fact I love how in the late 70s and early 80s reggae influence extended into many acts - the Specials, the Clash etc.
My fav of theirs and my powder skiing soundtrack

This came on right after on the YT algorithm. Other than this and land down under I cant say Ive dug into their other stuff. Will have to rectify that.....
In my all time Top 10

@MiketheSnow My favourite too.
@nonpartizan Underground, It's A Mistake, Dr. Heckyll & Mr. Jive and Be Good Johnny are worth a listen as well.

Probably as far removed as anything discussed on this thread, but this is absolutely gorgeous to listen to with a glass or three of decent burgundy

Is there any song that is so much a time capsule of its era than this song?
Maybe it's because it reminds me of my first serious girlfriend and the first heartbreak I endured but this song always evokes such strong memories of 1998......
Whenever I hear it it's like being transported back into the late 90s in a time machine.... I recall my youthful naivety and the vibe of that era..... Truthfully it feels like a different lifetime.
Edit - btw I'm not saying it's a great song, it's not but it's the one song that has such a pull of nostalgia.
It’s a really good song. Catchy as anything with, as you say, very 90s lyrics.
Compare it to other 90s one hit wonders like Chumbawumba and whatever piston wristed gibbons sung cotton eyed Joe and it stands out VERY well.

Have been at a couple of conferences last two weeks. Was feeling sentimental recently, put on the classic Tuxedomoon track:
Up there with All We Ever Wanted Was Everything by Bauhaus ‧ 1982
Epic song
Great cover
