Saw Dave Matthews Band at the Albert Hall last night. Reckon my wife and I were the only people not American.
Still an incredible venue, and they are one hell of a band. Carter Beauford is an absolute freak on the drums, I can see why many rate him up there with the very best (Professor, Baker, Bonham etc). He seems to have this technique where its all in the wrists. His arms seem to move slower than the average drummer, but the wrists are just a blur.
Aside, the gig was a bit meh to be honest. They play a strange setlist, with only about 2-3 hits and lots of secondary songs in there. Crush was awesome and easily the highlight song of the evening. About 2:20 in I'd had enough so left. Heard him start Don't Drink The Water on the way out (which is my fave DM song), so popped back in to see the horns guy start another solo and left.
Good gig, 6/10. Could have been so much better.

Saw Bring Me The Horizon with my oldest last week. So fucking good. Support acts were Sleep Token (wild that they are still the support for anyone, they're insanely unique and awesome), Make Them Suffer and Daine - all were fucking great. 40+ songs, 4+ hours of immense fun that neither of us will forget in a hurry.

They've been great the times I've seen them, but mostly because until a few years ago I knew every single song as one of my mates (a drummer who got into them due to Carter) would thrash the hell out of them on road trips, bbq's etc for 20 years.

Calling all guitarists on here - anyone have one with a Floyd Rose bridge? The lad has one, and we attempted the first string change the other night with youtube assisting. Fair to say it did not go well...
Anyone got a good resource or advice for working with these things? Bloody nightmare!!!

What exactly went wrong ?
I currently own three guitars and two basses and have never had an issue changing strings.

we got the bridge levered up, the old stings off and new ones on, but when we released the blocker, the bridge didn't release. Tried loosening the springs on the back of the guitar but that didn't work.
Took it into the shop today and the 2 blokes at the counter (one of who plays in a band) said "only [Fess] (or some other rando name) here knows how to do a Floyd Rose, we will call you when he gets in" - they called, and it's booked in with [Fess] who said it takes about 2 hours to get right !!!
oh and $155...

No, didn't see that one - will watch now, thanks.
Would note that I am already 1 min in to his 20min clip and he has already admitted to having "pre-done" about 5 steps and he has laid out the required kit in this manner:
I suspect that Fess was not exaggerating.

Edit - that pic includes a number of tools that he has designed and made himself to fill a gap in the market.
Fess is going to be taking a bit of my $ over the next few years
