Crusaders vs Waratahs
-
@sammyc Yeah - I've always thought he was a decent prospect, but I thought the same about Sione Fifita as well.
He's probably the most vulnerable of the current backs - along with Stratton and Delaney - though those guys have a pretty good idea of what they're contending with (Enari and old age).
-
Heading along Saturday afternoon, will be vocal towards Straight Acting Folau.
-
The big difference between then and now is the size of the crowd.

Ginger mullets? No wonder they didn't pick him, he's not playing for the Highlanders you know!

@nta It's well worth a rewatch.
And a re-liveblog from Cameron McMillan:

*It's 16 years since the Crusaders thrashed the Waratahs 96-19 in their final round Super 12 clash. Ninety-six remains the most points scored by one team in a Super Rugby game while the Crusaders' 14 tries is a record matched only by the Lions against the Sunwolves last year.
The teams just happen to clash tomorrow in Christchurch. Crusaders coach Scott Robertson started at No 8 for the red-and-blacks that night while Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson scored a try off the Crusaders' bench.
I was working for TVNZ's website nzoom. With with two games being played that night and just two staff on, I drew the long straw and blogged the earlier clash between the Highlanders and the Reds. Colleague Dana Johannsen (you may have heard of her) had the misfortune of having to blog the Crusaders-Waratahs clash. Blogging can be intense - having to describe 17 tries was next level.
To mark the 16th anniversary I decided to finally blog the game, courtesy of a YouTube link for a Japanese audience but with Sky commentators.*

As a Blues fan, that video made me feel much better about my team. At least we were never that soft.

What computer game is this?

Hopefully Duncan McRae hasn't been allowed into the country!

Shit that was a poor second half from the Crusaders. To only score 33 points and come up 4 short of three figures is deplorable. I hope they had a good hard look at themselves and their commitment to the cause after that display.

-
Crazy start to the game and the Tahs are in.
-
0-5 after 5.
-
Saders fuck up a midfield scrum. Terrible from Hall there.
-
Another turnover from the Saders.
They had them broken down too.. scrum looks strong.
-
What a shithouse call there to penalize Moody. fuck me ref, he was rolling away.
-
0 - 8 after 12 now. Tahs have no territory but all the points.
-
WTF do the Crusaders even know each other? ffs
-
Where is the fucken offside line? FFS Nayaravoro was living in the Sader backline
-
Fuck me, passed it right to him like an alley hoop.
Fijian Prop scores.
-
0-15 after 18. Saders in trouble.
-
Another fucking turnover.
-
Never mind the fucken fancy schmancy moves, just roll the sleeves up and get into it
-
Fucking hell. They can’t hold the ball for one phase.
-
Another scrum free kick. Nothing going right.
-
You fucking muppets. High ball game against Folau?????
Who scores, of course.
-
pathetic kick
-
Useless c*nts!
Fucking wake up!!!
-
Jesus, I can’t get over that. What the fuck was Mo’unga thinking?
0-22 after about 25. Fuck me
-
at least they have plenty of time...
-
um....
-
Fuck me, another.
Folau in the air over Bridge who knocks it down, and Tahs are in.
-
-
0-29 after 30.
-
@gt12 well before I thought a couple of quick tries and they were back...now they need to get 3 to get back in it.
-
that ball was out and 9 nudged it back in to hold things up...hate that they can do that
-
Hmm game on. Still wouldn't rule out a Crusaders victory.
