Blues 2019

@Yeetyaah Chiefs caught wind of what was going on..not sure if it’s a smart decision on his part especially if Weber is your number 1 halfback and the coach is still Cooper..good luck to him,but it’s a dumb move on his part..would have been the starting halfback at the Blues..

Why is not going to a hopelessly run franchise not a good move? Blues are yet to prove they are out of their funk (even if they do look better)
Word is that Cooper won't last.

@Hooroo it’s the best way to challenge yourself ,if he’s quite happy to sit on the bench, then so be it..!
I am picturing that he won't be on the bench much next season. He wasn't going to move this season
-
@Steven-Harris Agree that he would have been starting at the Blues. Still think he'll push Weber out though.
-
@Yeetyaah my disappointment is probably more in and around the fact we (the Blues)can’t seem to sign anyone of quality in many key positions..teams with average halves don’t win Super Rugby titles..which is why I am so critical of Tony Hanks the so called recruitment officer..I could write a list of players on this guys watch who have not scrubbed up on his watch not to mention the non signing of many players who gone on to be rock stars at other franchises and that list would be bigger again..
-
Just heard through a contact Sam Nock will be the starting halfback for the Canes game on Friday night..has not been re signed as yet, but sounds like he is playing for his future..
Pulu apparently does not have a contract..but it’s seems its not out of the realms that the Blues may resign him because he could be staying in NZ..
The plot thickens ...either that or they have lost the plot. -
@Steven-Harris do the Blues take a punt on Nock and hope he matures into a decent halfback or do they toss him to the scrap heap? I suppose they are damned if they do, damned if they don't.
I would get rid of Pulu though, he has reached his ceiling IMO.
-
@Canes4life I think your spot on..Can you imagine Nock behind a Saders pack..?,even Bryn Hall looks half decent, but Nock has got a much better pass..apparently Leon MacDonald works with the Blues halfbacks..that’s because he played halfback...not..!.
Do yourself a favour Blues..I have got Former All Black Dean Kenny’s Phone number, when it comes to halfback critique I have never meet anyone better... -
@Steven-Harris If the Bues don't want him I would be more than happy if the Canes picked him up. He is definately better than Finlay Christie.
-
@Steven-Harris any other oil on Friday's team?
Pleased that Nock is starting.
-
@KiwiMurph ,could be a change at first five as well and Robinson might be rested or off the bench..that’s about all I could gleem,
Makes a bit of sense as they will require some pace to combat the Canes loosies .. -
@Steven-Harris Thanks. I really like those changes if so.
-
@KiwiMurph me too,I think Robinson needs to be rested
-
@Steven-Harris yep, northland need him fresh 😎
-
Just aslong as Nonu starts against Laumape.
-
@KiwiMurph Nock and Plummer to start? Papalii to start as well with Robinson out. Jed Brown will probably take the reserve loosie spot but would love to see Sotutu get a run. Maybe a shake up in the front row given Saturday nights events? Lindenmuth has been playing for a few weeks now so perhaps he'll be given a crack with Mafileo still out injured.
