To be clear, if I was judging their overall careers (AB's etc) it wouldn't be close, Woodcock would win easily. TW played better rugby at Test level than he did for the Blues IMO. Still very good for the Blues of course.
I'm comfortable leaning towards the great front row combo of the first few years

I get where you're coming from but Dowd had the advantage of playing for one of the greatest Super teams ever and Woody - didn't. No wonder he looked good.

He did early in his career, then he made the Highlanders and moved South

When he came to the Blues he signed with Auckland but left before the NPC
