umaga must go after this, pathetic effort from the blues.
Listening to Tana and razor on radio sport this week was like chalk and cheese. Umaga clearly out of his depth at this level
Yup, we've got to stop rushing former players into head coaching roles way before they are ready. Tana has been an unmitigated disaster similar to Hammett.
I have a lot of empathy with the Blues fans, it was bloody tough going as a Canes fan for years, to the point that people jumped ship (you know who you are). And our record was nowhere near as bad!
Hang in there, a coach worth his salt can turn your boys around. Can't happen soon enough.

Shoulda BFA been pinged there for hitting NOck on the deck?

I can't believe the Blues would have a guy like Duffie on the bench, when you have so much experience out. We would happily take him and make him the heir to Ben Smith's throne at fullback.

Normally I’d agree, but he’s been horribly out of form. Played ok today though.

Elliott Dixon just says fuck it, let's go home.

@southernmann the issue a series of bloody awful coaches,it’s the old saying to be a good coach you have got to be a good selector and in the case of Pat Lam,John Kirwin and now Tana, they are all out of their depth and it’s the people who administers organisation that piss me off no end even more than the players.
-
@southernmann smartest man in the team with the BP in the bag...
-
@kiwimurph not sure that is entirely true, some bloody good players, but they lack leadership, direction, game plan, confidence and a bit of luck
-
This Blues team reminds me of the end of Carisbrook era Highlanders, no names and no team taking them seriously.

@kirwan to be honest it’s about what I expected..in fact they held in there better than I thought they would given the defections..did well to come back 11-12 and actually show some good tactical appreciation, but they make needles handling errors ,turn ball over and get punished according..On saying that regardless of who you put on the paddock ,given an opportunity you should be jumping out of your skin.
At least Reiko Ioane showed his class, some of his carrying is better than many of the forwards -

Well, I left early. It was shit. Our halfback seemed to think that slow, looping passes were a good idea, and it didn't get better. The second Landers try was ropey as fark, ball was on the ground stopped and then somehow over the line.
Crowd was utterly deflated. As negative as I've seen at EP. It's just like a long, slow train wreck. Team played poorly, no evidence of structure or effectiveness, and consistently poor skills for a professional outfit.
I'm just .... empty inside.

@kiwimurph we had team stacked with All Blacks and big names when Pat Lam coached them and we stumbled into the playoffs and got cleaned up the Reds..you arguably say even our better selected sides have been a massive disappointment.

The Pat Lam side wasn’t that bad. If he had the resources Tana has it would be interesting to think about what might have been.

Stumbled into the playoffs and cleaned up by the Reds? The Blues beat the Tahs in the playoffs that year to make the semis and ran the Reds close in that semi.
