Most people will want to watch the matches in the convenience of their own homes, so any "solution" that requires them to go somewhere else late at night will still be criticised.

@Crucial said in [Poll] Will you use Spark to watch RWC?:

@Duluth said in [Poll] Will you use Spark to watch RWC?:

Their compromise is to provide a free feed to schools (all schools have fibre) and have locals organise something at the school hall or the sky pub feed.

One cannot watch RWC knock out matches with the wider community.

There is far too high a risk of some cheerful fluffybunny going, "Oh well, it's only a game"!

Let alone the ladies frowning on people who shriek, "Catch the ball you useless %$^ %&^&^ %&%^%^ &&$#& %*#@"!!! 🙂

At least in a pub you can blame it on the booze. And you won't be the only one screaming

@canefan True - although on reflection, there is yet another compelling piece of evidence....

Years I have watched the ABs final RWC match in the comfort of my own home - 1987, 1991, 2011, 2015

    Years I've watched elsewhere 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007.

Moutter is playing with fire - that's all I'm saying...! 🙂

@Machpants weird, it’s working well here and I’m on iOS 13 Beta so should be prone to more issues.

If anyone wants to watch the RWC for cheap as chips, download ExpressVPN which changes your server location. Change your server location to UK and watch ITV's free online hub which will stream all the games.

ExpressVPN costs less than $7 U.S a month.'

I have Express VPN. Have you tried the hub yet? I seem to recall trying to use it while on holiday in Fiji with my VPN activated and it not working. I might try again....

Anyone know if Spark are going to have all of the matches "on demand" (full matches, not the highlights crap that sky do)?

In the unlikely event that need to be doing something else when a good match is on, I won't be able to record it, so need an on demand full replay.

The old dilemma when the rugby is on but the missus decides that now is the time for a bit of “attention “?

EPL is live and on demand so I think so

My wife isn't that stupid (although if if it's the Blues she'd probably give it a go. Likes it a bit rough I think).

@Snowy my understanding is it is on demand so you can just watch any game any time, which is a big improvement over Sky's coverage where you'd have to record every game in case you wanted to watch it later.

Excellent. So there is an upside to having to pay a second provider (I've still got Sky).

@Snowy All 48 games on demand in their entirety, available within minutes of each broadcast ending

I feel better about spending the cash (and get to have a shag, and see the matches based on @Crucial 's dilemma).

Edit - there might be a problem there - "available within minutes of each broadcast ending". If said shag was about to happen at the start of a match of 80 mins duration, I might have to wait quite some time for the on demand rugby. Problem not solved methinks...

That's what I was getting at. Could even see the kick off if SA do their full anthem.
