So Sodhi in for Astle?
Astle is injured. Side strain.
Sodhi in red hot form.
Must have been injured with all that celebrating

Bad start to this test.
IMO, poor decision to bowl first, followed up by two poor reviews.
We urgently need wickets or it will be a long day in the field.
-
Southee answers my call and gets the king pin, straight through him, he was nowhere near that.
-
Missed runout chance and now Boult gets Malan for a golden with an absolute beauty. Fucking awesome.
-
Stoneman's stonewall smashed to pieces and the collapse is on!
-
Longer tail coming up?

Can anyone guarantee @booboo isnt watching or listening in at the moment?
Funnily enough ....
... I walk in from work and Waggie gets Woakes first ball I see ...
... walk out for quick comfort stop walk back in and half a second later Anderson gets out ...
Again. It's all down to my timing.
You're welcome.
So. You may thank me again.
Just in from the gym. Turn telly on and first ball I see Timmah gets laid err gets Root.
Wander around. Laundry on. Next ball I see Boulter nabs Malan.
Can't claim Stokes though.

Anyone want to get rid of Southee now? 3-24.
In ODIs, Henry is making a hell of a case given his numbers.
But in tests Boult and Southee are absolutely superb as a combination, and with Wagner bacming them up we have one of the better seam attacks going around.
-
@no-quarter Hmm. O.K. I would back Southee at the death rather than Henry and he would likely have to do that? Both of them can go for a few.
Pretty hard to squeeze them both into the team. Unusual for NZ to be in that position, and nice.
-
@no-quarter Totally agree, especially in tests. I think the key message of Allan Donald's coaching, which continued through Shane Bond's tenure, was to hunt as a pack, and having 3 seamers who are picked together regularly is crucial to maintaining that. It's easy to roast Southee at times, but I think he's part of the equation which makes Boult so effective, so that shouldn't be underestimated.
Edit: and as I say this, Southee shows it by following up Boult's breakthrough with a maiden over to keep the pressure on.
-
Soon to be our 3rd and 4th highest test wicket takers with Wagner not far behind.
-
That’s 7

Hope Southee picks up a desereved 5-for, he's been absolutely superb today.
