@nepia McGuire is building towards the next RLWC and Benji is retiring next season so no point in using him.
That's a piss poor excuse and one that the previous coaching group made even though he played through their whole reign of mediocrity. Adam Blair isn't going to make the next RLWC, neither is Issac Luke.
Fuck NZ league (Warriors and Kiwis ) annoys me some times.

Benji isn't playing so great that he just walks in to the team

I'm not saying that at all - this is a wider training squad. We have three halves total. We never get our full selected squad ever so it's likely one of our halves wont make it.
I'm not even saying I'd select him. But to exclude him full stop, and for the reason @Sneakdefreak has mentioned just seems silly. I can see the Kiwis starting another test with Harris in the halves.

Yeah but Blair and Luke are playing beyond next season whereas Marshall is not (although both Blair and Luke have suggested that they will step aside for the next generation).
I'm ok with Marshall returning but sometimes it's best to move on. Te Maire Martin will be the starting standoff anyway.

He'll have to play half when Johnson and Nikorima injure themselves in the finals series. Then Harris at stand off again ...

@nepia Jerohme Hughes is also in the mix - he's the starting halfback for the Melbourne Storm.
Clearly I haven't been watching the Storm enough because most times I see them he's been playing fullback.

Utility ,
Is equally at home playing 1 , 6 or 7

No no no no no
Yes yes yes yes yes

@no-quarter Media in NZ have been having a field day canvassing punters about which game they will be watching (which is kinda silly as it is more in the Warriors v ABs context rather than the Warriors in finals for first time in forever and the ABs against Argentina who have never beaten us...)
-
As noted I'm going to the Warriors game, but TBH, if I'd have checked the NPC draw and knew that the Magpies were playing on Saturday I would not have gone as I'll have to miss at least 30 mins of the game due to transport out to the wild wild west.
My uber-leaguie mate has already got offended as I told him I wont go next week if there's a clash with the Boks game.
@raznomore With the team we've chosen I think the outcome is more up in the air than usual.
-
@sneakdefreak hey sneak have you seen this kid the warriors have signed from Rotorua boys. Obviously still a kid but he has huge potential. Selesitino Ravutaumada

Biggest clash between the two team I can remember was 2011 Grand Final (with 3 NZ teams in each grand final) vs NZ/Canada RWC pool match.
Seems obvious on face value, but Carter went down the day before and had been officially pulled that morning so there was decent curiosity in Slade starting his 2nd test.

they really cant help but down play the warriors.
"tomorrow night the panthers vs the warriors and then an Ab-so-lute classic! The sharks take on the minor premier Rooster. So the warriors vs panther in sudden death and then the big Sharks vs Roosters.. " from the personfication on an awkward orgasm Vossie.
