NRL 2018

A ballsy short dropout pays off, Warriors get it back and Luke is clotheslined.
-
Just saw that high tackle. I don't watch much league, but in rugby you'd get a yellow at least for that. Is league more lenient?
-
@stargazer very much so.
Luke would have to be decapitated before they’d even consider the sin bin.
-
Thats another yellow card in rugby.
Huge professional foul with a try on offer.
Warriors back in front 18-16
-
Miracle. I thought that was a try.
-
So dumb to take the two.
-
Tevaga and lino are state level players at best
-
An error only the Warriors would make there, bloody Tevaga knocks on at the back of the scrum on his own 10m line.
Canberra over for a try but the Warriors saved by the bunker for the second time in 2 minutes.
-
Warriors hanging on at best.
Checcin is a cheat
-
@mariner4life it’s the script Mate, Mannerings 300th, the Warriors have to win.
-
How’s does Johnson manage to just go missing for entire matches??
-
And Kata is one of the laziest players in the NRL
-
-
That’s an awful try to concede.
Two chances to kill the movement, RTS, first then Kata fumbles a pretty easy take.
The only pass Kata will make all year!
The Warriors did that tough and needed the bunker to save them twice - who would have thought.
A win but not a great game to watch.
-
At least we hung in there for the win instead of folding. Messy but always good to get the W.
-
Those dirty cap rorters the Storm are doing their best to deny us a home playoff
-
Nice way to cap off a successful regular season by pissing Ricky Stuart off once more. Onto the playoffs.
Full house: Usually I can get into Mt Smart in 5-10 minutes before kick off but tonight was different. I turned up about 45 mins before kick off yet only managed to make it into the stadium just as Mannering was running out. The ticket scheme the Warriors ran for Mannering's 300th meant a lot of families went to the game which was awesome to see.
The real MVP: You have to say Simon Mannering even if he came off the field early in the second half with an injury. The whole night was about him and that probably helped the Warriors win a number of 50/50 calls. He got a bit emotional after the game during his ceremony but who didn't when Michael Luck made a special appearance to present Mannering with the game ball. Also impressive was Fusitua and Maumalo carrying Mannering off the field. Those are two strong fellas.
What about the other guys?: I'm as one-eyed as they come but even I admit, the Raiders should have probably won that game. They threw everything they had right up to the final seconds and were ultimately undone by 50/50 errors. That's pretty much been their season in a nutshell. Blake Austin is an average playmaker too.
Most hated man in league: BlowJob Leilua is a grub who had to come off for a concussion which was a surprise to everyone at Mt Smart as he doesn't have a brain to begin with. Lino getting back up after taking a cheap hit from Leilua sent a message to the Raiders that they couldn't bully the Warriors like the Roosters and Bunnies did earlier in the season.
Playoffs!?!: Warriors are off to the playoffs for the first time in a long time. But first they need to make sure that Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Simon Mannering and Blake Green are all fit and healthy for their trip to Sydney against whoever.
Best playoff team is probably:
1.Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 2. David Fusitua 3. Peta Hiku 4. Gerard Beale (can't trust Kata) 5. Ken Maumalo 6. Blake Green 7. Shaun Johnson 8. James Gavet 9. Isaac Luke 10. Agnatius Paasi 11. Adam Blair 12. Tohu Harris 13. Simon Mannering
Bench: 14. Jazz Tevaga 15. Leivaha Pulu 16. Bunty Afoa 17. Isaiah Papalii -
@sneakdefreak Kata is the first name on Kearneys team sheet, so there is no way he’ll be dropped!
-
Fucken Storm.
-
If the Roosters get a big win over the Eels then the Storm's plan to rest so many players backfires and they drop to 2nd.
-
Kata is a problem. I only seem to come on here to complain about him these days but can he just fuck off already. He's made for the Super League. The place where hungus, glory boy antics are rewarded with cult status.
Last night his try would have been Maumalo's had Beale or Hiku received that last pass and that's the type of shit we are going to lose games on in the playoffs. Having a player in your team that does not care about being safe or making sure is what costs you in the big moments.
Im not talking about the big moments like Benji's "that pass" in the 2005 grand final. I understand the difference between the greats and the averages is chancing your arm when no one else would. But when you have an unmarked winger and the game is on the line you do not take on 2-3 defenders 20m out!
-
Kata to score the winning try in our first playoff game. You heard here it first.

That's probably reasonable ...
After letting in one try for poor reads on D and bombing two tries in attack because of hungus-ness.
-
It's looking like we'll be finishing 8th on the table and playing the Storm or Roosters.

Doesn’t 8th play 5th?

I hope we play the Storm and beat them for sandbagging against the Panthers
-
@virgil yes we play 5th. Will be panthers at Allianz.
-
So league has a weird rule that if you're the receiving team and you catch a ball that hasn't gone 10 metres from the kick off you get penalised.
Anyway, JT is gets a win in his farewell match.
-
Now the dipshit sideline guy is asking him stupid in depth questions - he just finished 80 minutes of running around. TBF, he's answered them really well.
-
All gone to plan so far (warriors panthers dragons cowboys) and now need roosters to win 13+ for last leg of a juicy multi
And you know they will be trying to rack up the points tonight for that minor premiership

You're probably right. Dunno how the playoff systems works now-a-days since my team hasn't been there since 2011.
-
Top 4 play off , losers get a second chance , winners get week off ,
Bottom 4 play off , losers gone , winners play losers from top 4 ,
its a system that rewards the higher placed sides more
-
I know its a world of could of should of would of. I just can't shake that shit miss call at the death in warriors vs sharks game. We would have been fourth and sharks would have been in the 5th-8th spot.
If we somehow managed to win the bulldogs game would have been minor premiers (but we lost that fair and square).
Am glad its unlikely we will face brisbane much rather dragons or Panthers. Dragons are injury ridden and were shit against an understregnth knights.
-
How shit is that, basically everybody wins, so we stay 8th.
Panthers away will still be tough unfortunately, would much rather have got the Dragons.
So many teams in the 8 i don't want to see win the comp!!
-
Warriors and ABs playing at the same time.
-
I just read that. Outstanding scheduling.
But i guess given the other constraints, Warriors fans were the easiest to overlook.
-
@bovidae The NRL couldn't have rigged the draw a bit to ensure the Warriors don't go head-to-head with the ABs?
I'm actually going to go the game, my league tragic mates nagged me enough, so I'll record the ABs and head straight home to watch it - I will punch anyone who tells me the score in the kisser. TBH, if the ABs were playing Oz or the Boks I wouldn't go to the game.
-
I’m gonna love all the Aussie league media talking up the Panthers all week. Cleary is their new darling and the same ol cliches will come out about the Warriors. And of course we will only be a hope if Aussie Blake plays!
Warriors by 6.
