More of the same shit from our top order I see, only difference this time is we haven’t had someone stick their neck out above the mediocrity and save the day.
Our batting largely has been fucking terrible in 2018, too many guys are going missing
Munro made a pretty lucky 49 and 7 runs in his other four innings.
Chapman 9 runs in 3 innings.
CdGh - two mediocre scores, three failures.
On the other side of the equation - Rossco has been excellent and Santner has exceeded expectations.
Kane one good score, but a couple of failures - good, but not as good as we needed.
Guptill and Latham have contributed, both averaging about 30 so probably pass marks - Latham moreso than Guppy.
Nicholls - SFA before today - but, redemption is at hand!

Apparently he is blind, so yes his batting is remarkable.
The great thing about expectations with the teams that I follow (mentioned above) - I don't have any (of winning anyway).
-
I've been too generous with Guppy - he's only averaged 22.6 for the series - not good enough for any opener or him!
@Snowy - Santner is currently averaging 173 for the series - don't mess with his eyes (implant a catching gene)!
@Gunner - Nicholls' ODI record is better than you'd think in the general NZ scheme of things.

I don't think this pitch is as good as the comms are making out (they seem to pretty much always claim the pitch is perfect no matter what).
270 is probably par, so we're well below that. Will need early wickets to have a chance.

Would you like to borrow some straws? We haven't really managed that for a while and it was our modus operandi to generate wins.

This English team are annoying. They seem like decent blokes doing something they enjoy (maybe the exception of Stokes but he is a Kiwi). Morgan is a very likable captain and it is just hard to have a problem with them.
Bastards.
Agree, although Curran seems like a bit of a wank. They are my second favourite team and I hope they can lift the WC next year if we fail to do so.

@no-quarter 270 may be par against most teams but this English team bats right down so you have to account for that. 290 against this team is probably a par score on this pitch.

England are sailing away with victory at 135/0.
I'm just happy our team with injuries and lack of depth could force a game five against the favourite to win next year's CWC. Proves we do have the talent to make another CWC final but there are lot of things to still work on.
Colin Munro needs to go away and redevelop his game because the big boys have him figured out. CdG also needs to change his batting style as well because he is making stupid shot selections. Needs to just keep the RR ticking like Elliott did.
Henry Nicholls isn't the guy to come in at six, that needs to be a big hitting all-rounder. Or do you consider moving Santner to six or seven?
Is Boult/Southee/CdG the best pace trio going into the CWC? Could a Henry/Bracewell/Ferguson/McClenaghan/Milne or Wagner offer something different? -
@Sneakdefreak it's starting to get a bit silly leaving Henry on the sidelines when he has 67 wickets from 35 matches at 24 a piece. I'd also like to see Ferguson as our 3rd seamer, he offers a point of difference and is useful at knocking over the lower order.
I don't think Hesson has got the tactics and selections quite right this summer.
