GAH. Nicholls out for 1, just after Taylor gets bowled. Hate these mini collapses.
It's like you've completely forgotten our cricketing history.

Latham..... ffs

@mariner4life Yes. These fucking bastards have been lulling me with the string of victories.
-
hilarious. 4 wickets in 20 balls

We don't quite have the middle-lower order right at the moment. Latham's position must be under pressure, he's not really suited to batting 6 or 7 and hitting from the word go. Think Phillips will be pushing him hard for that slot in the near future. Also missing Corey's hitting power there, though CDGH has done a decent job.
I'd say we're 20 runs below par, and with no Boult in the lineup things could get interesting.

Seemed a very difficult pitch to score at close to a run a ball on - or we made it very had work. We’ll find out which it was very soon
They made hard work of it. Kane has been very disappointing lately. He has employed the Taylor mindset of wasting at least 15 balls before any urgency is shown. Taylor was back to his bad old self. His partnership with Guptill was what slowed down this innings. No urgency and showed way too much respect to the bowlers.

I hear that NQ but Nicholls did a good job of steadying the ship and letting CDGH blaze at the other end in the last ODI. Him and Latham strike me as being good value if the top four fail.

We made a bit of a mess of that.
212/2 after 41 overs - we've only managed to go at 6.5 an over, when you'd expect to go at close to 10.
Wonder if there was a bit of mixed-up thinking out there? Too much focus by his partners on getting CdGh on strike, while Colin wasn't so much thinking that.
Might have been better if Colin had actually turned down a few singles if the aim on the next ball is just going to be to push for a single.

Munro and Santner have a bit of a habit of dropping straight-forward chances. Can't really afford that at this level.
