9 down. Heaps to get.....and I'm talking to myself cos no one cares about this crap Windies team.

I would have been there right beside you bro, but um.....yea, na the relaxing hum of my ride on and it’s stubble holder were more appealing once the Windies got to double figures only 5 down.

Did you know that in the player rankings for ODI batting the highest West Indian is rated 48? That's Marlon Samuels. Shai Hope is next highest on 62nd. That tells me that they aren't getting a consistent team on the field because even Neil Broom has got himself up to 39th place currently.

All of that speaks absolute volumes. Broom only gets in when someone is rested or injured.

I'm not watching but I'm not sure why Gabriel is on 7 from 15. Last I checked you can't play for a draw in limited overs.

Have a fucken swing, you have nothing to lose

His previous highest score was 2 so he's not doing too bad...

Yeah but surely it's a better option to have a go for an extremely unlikely victory than to pad the woeful average....

Broom played some very good innings last summer and over the winter as well against good opposition. Brownlie is the only other option to bat 3 IMO with Williamson out. Broom was always a bit of a short term solution.

They could've given one of the young guys a go.

    Like who? Bruce isn't a #3.

Neither is Broom. Young is probably a better choice at 3. But hey, if Munro can open the batting, I'm sure Bruce can have a go at 3.

Broom's ranking is boosted by his games against Bangladesh and Ireland.
Take those games out and his average drops from 26.94 to 14.48.

    That's disgusting.

Depends on who you count as good. He started very promisingly, with two very good scores against the Bangles and backed it up with a match winning 73 against Australia. At that point he looked like he was going to be a new Grant Elliot.

But after that he made runs only against the Bangles (consistently) and Ireland.

He had an awful series against South Africa, failed in the CT vs Australia and England and has now had two failures vs the Windies and has doubtless lost his place in the starting XI to Nicholls and is probably being edged out of the squad by Worker.

Sure. I'm just saying that Bruce is a slogger and Young hasn't pushed his case by performing poorly in domestic cricket. We have lost two senior players so they have brought a senior batsman into the #3 slot. If Guptill was fit, we could just slot Worker in at 3.

Ronchi made a century and was picked for two years after that while offering next to nothing. No way Broom would be not selected for someone unproven.

I see that Neesham has been dropped by Otago, he’s going for 11 an over with the ball and averaging 6 with the bat in the BKSS.

Doubling down on the bad form.
A return to the BCs appears a long way off at this stage.

First time I have seen Phillips bat. Yet another NZ batter that doesn't move his feet. I hoped the system would have fixed this by now in our young players but I guess not.

Not the fastest start but only 1 wicket down works in our favour.

That 6 will hopefully do Phillips a world of good, he fair belted that.

Munro getting going now. He's a seriously dangerous T20 player. And by dangerous I mean he just hit a kid in the head... hope the little fella is OK.

Lovely catch from Braithwaite, made it look easy.

Good innings from Munro, gives us a platform to launch from.

Good innings from Phillips on debut. Didn't seem like anyone even acknowledged his 50 when he got there.

Badree is a fluffybunny to get away. 2nd lowest RPO in T20 history, behind our very own... Vettori.

That's a pretty poor review but I guess in T20s you may as well have a crack.

If people were pissed about Broom, then they should be livid that Anaru Kitchen is there.

A bit of a strange decision really. Neesham is still an international cricketer and is bound to come off eventually in domestic cricket.

Doull again saying Kane and Rosco shouldn't play T20s as we need them to focus on ODIs and tests. Sorry what tests are you referring to Doull?!

Based on the tour results to date I’m pretty confident we already have about 100 runs more then we need to comfortably win this

We're lacking a bit in mid to lower order hitters.

Yup from looking at 180-190 only a few overs ago now they will be lucky to reach 170
