Black Caps vs Windies Series

@majorrage the Ashes thread shows why non-cricket people battle with test cricket. Every summer the test threads devolve from talking about the game to making up bullshit arbitrary XIs and arguing about the same bullshit. And then MN5 will start talking about all rounders and flogging himself over Chris Cairns' hairy chest. Every summer. Same shit.
Chris Cairns is one of our greatest ever players and a terrific fudge Packer who was never proven to have cheated. There's nothing not to love.

@mn5 follow him on twitter and be ready to change your mind.
Blunt is s genius
I'm sure he's a great bloke but his music is the worst kind of fucken sappy shit imaginable. Most of my favourite musos sound like absolute fluffybunnies personality wise. Go figure.
-
@mariner4life to be fair last 10 balls we've had a top edge 6 and now a straight ball right in the cock.
So it's a bit more interesting
-
@chris-b it completely is. What is he there for? If his test average was higher than his bowling speed i could fathom that he is there for runs and to rest the quicks. But it's not. And he's bowling first change. It's just muddled thinking.
Wagner is best at wearing batsmen down. CdG bowls at just above leg spin pace. Tell me again why we are bowling? Muddled selections, muddled tactics. It's like the entire NZC organisation has given up on test cricket.

@majorrage this
CdG is fucking shit, and it's an embarrassment he's bowling first change. And if he's first change, why the fuck do you bowl first??
You're complaining about CdG being first change when you have a pleb in Henry opening the bowling?

And another. Dreadful technique, Wagner is going to have some fun with the short ball this series.
They've squandered an excellent start after being sent in there. They'll be fuming at that.
-
Clearly bowling first was the right choice..

100%. He epitomises everything you want in an international cricketer. He's fashioned himself a classy record too, 28 test bowling average is really, really good.

...or his variation - the very short ball!
Jeez - you'd have to really hate Wagner if he was playing against us!
-
Agree with others on the CDGH selection. We already have two all-rounders in Blundell and Santner, a third "part time batsmen part time bowler" doesn't help the balance of the side at all. If we think Blundell and Santner are good enough to bat 6 and 7 then that gives us a great opportunity to play another quick with a point of difference. Disappointing selection.

Agreed
and tough. Tougher than any other bowler we have seen in a long time.
