The Ashes

I'm happy with the decision for Broad - it looked like a catch and on replay you can't see it touch the ground. Still a very valuable contribution to England. Imagine what they could have got if Cook was better at judging whether his batting partner should use a referral!
-
Actually I defer to Bill Lawry. I think he used the grass to aid his grip ( not intentionally)
I can understand how present procedures arrive at the decision though, and that's how it is.
Cook's straight bat shots were a feature today.
Amazing how the lack of pressure for this match has affected each team's performance.

Personally I have no great issue with Khawaja's catch.
And this is coming from an avowed anti-Strayan.

Staying in Taupo with the mrs and her family. Needless to say we fucked off to the pub at the earliest opportunity. I watched a cool doco on mute. Great seeing Ian Chappelle, Doug Walters, Jeff Thomson, Bob Willis, Graham Gooch, Alan Border and various others being interviewed.
It woulda been even better if I could hear them.

haha Anderson doesn't even survive the first ball of the morning! all out for the overnight score, and a lead of 164.
-
Fuck that's kind of funny. Cummins must be looking forward to a good lie down, but given our collapse in the first innings I reckon we'll need to really fucking apply ourselves.
Anderson and Broad will be fresh, and I predict The Angry Lesbian will be out there in the first hour, given how uncomfortable Bancroft and The Waj looked on Day 1.
-
Bancroft got what they're calling a good ball.
The Waj was just fucking lazy. Time to boot him. Can't bat on the subcontinent. Hasn't recaptured the form he had a couple of years back where everything was gold.
If Renshaw was dropped for poor form, The Waj doesn't need to bat in Sydney. Give someone else a go, because we've won the series and can't tolerate laziness.
-
Hats off to Cook. Always a terrific effort to carry your bat.
Agree, well done that man. Cricinfo says it was the first time in the Ashes since 1979, so quite a few milestones fell in his innings.
Highest score ever for someone doing it too. Beat Glen Turner.
