NBL: Breakers and stuff

@act-crusader Sosa's no Cedric Jackson. That would be a battle, Cedric in his prime vs Ware

Sosa got rattled by Casper. Casper is an NBA quality guard, but just lacks that extra bit of speed at his size that will get him a good look in. He’s the best guard in the NBL IMO.
I’d offload Sosa too.
I'd still take Randle

Maybe these new owners will have some contacts to bring former or NBA-quality players to the Breakers. For example, like Childress at the 36ers.
Do you know who they are? I was watching ESPN The Jump the other night, a big issue at the moment in the NBA is college "one and dones" and how to develop young talent that isn't NBA ready. Apparently the NBL have a new programme next season that will encourage the NBA to use it as a D league, attracting more NBA calibre players to Oz. I don't know how things work as far as how these players will be distributed

In the article I saw on the TV news the Blackwells were really happy with their choice of the new owners as they shared their vision for the team.
I hope they're right. I'll reserve judgement for now
They’re not the Warriors.....

Casper has better 3pt range but Randle’s midrange game is the best in the NBL. Both are good at getting to the basket. I’d have Casper as a slightly better passer. Randle is a chip on his shoulder type player and has that edge that you want from your star player.

If you’re keen to watch a good young Kiwi baller turn over to ESPN. Jack Salt from Auckland is playing in the ACC semi for Virginia. Got good game time and played well.

What position does he play? Virginia are tipped for a strong NCAA tourney this year

@canefan he’s a good size unit. Plays the 4 and 5.
Is he a draft prospect? He's getting minutes for one of the U.S. more fancied college teams this season

So much for the no.1 seed Virginia making a run at the NCAA title. I watched a little bit of their game yesterday versus University of Maryland, Baltimore County and they made history for all the wrong reasons. A 74-54 loss means UVA have become the first no.1 seed to lose to a no.16 seed in the NCAA tournament. The stat was 135-0. Jairus Lyles couldn't miss for UMBC. Salt was a non-factor.
Also, there is a story circulating that Paul Henare won't be back for the Breakers.

A bold move by the new owners, who clearly don't believe in seeing what you have for a season first. It says he chose not to renew but i reckon he must have been given the word from the new owners that his head was on the block. Henare did make some questionable coaching decisions, especially the offense and subs. Hang on tight Breakers fans
