@Bovidae The Breakers go all out with promotion and game experience, it's probably why they still get good crowds despite the poor results.

@Dice Are the ticket prices any cheaper compared to previous seasons?

Playing most games on a Thu night isn't the best to get the crowds in, but it's working this year.

@Bovidae Not sure if they're any cheaper to be honest.

Just looking at the ESPN mock draft and they have Ball going 1st and RJ Hampton going 5th. I haven't watched every Breakers game, so I'm wondering if Hampton is worth a 5th pick?

It's kind of hard for teams to assess him because he's playing in a pro league rather than college like most of the other guys going into the draft. In college he'd surely put up better numbers. The one thing I do notice with RJ is that he plays within the system and isn't just jacking up shots or being ball dominant to improve his stats.

I've mainly watched the Breakers home games so I can't comment on their poor performances on the road. The one away game I did watch was when Hampton got ejected early.

What I will say is that Hampton's defence has definitely improved from the start of the season. He was often getting caught out with poor positional awareness. Hampton is not getting as many assists as you would expect and, as you say, doesn't take that many shots.

RJ is only playing 22:36 mins a game whereas Ball is playing 31:13 and hasn't found a shot he doesn't like.

A game that both proves how good we are, and also how shallow we are.

Machado got in foul trouble so we had to play kenny a lot. And he's shit. We're about 6 deep and no more. Those 6 are fucking good, but that's not enough

    Breakers cut Rice.

He was easily their best player on Friday, so that might be an issue going forward.

    @mariner4life

The Breakers enjoy their home cooking.

They played more like a team last night vs Brisbane and shared the ball, even without Hampton. From what I read that was a criticism against your lot when Rice dominated the ball and the other 4 players stood there watching him.

The Breakers will need to make the most of their home games as they look a different team on the road.

Scotty machado is the best player to ever play for the Taipans.

Cam Oliver is even more exciting than my man crush Torey Craig

So it's going to suck when they are playing for someone else next year

LaMelo Ball is donating one month of his salary to the bushfire appeal

Good game! Breakers were bloody good, and with 5 to go I thought they would get the chocolates. But we got a couple of stops and Machado did his thing.

Breakers with an interesting defense where they went hard on the perimeter, then when we cut to the rim they just flooded the paint. Nearly worked, our 3 point percentage was dogshit, they got a few blocks, but gave up a shitload of fouls. They marked Machado hard all night, but he still scored truckloads (MVP!!)

Fuck you Rob Loe. I watched you jack up shit 3 after shit 3 last year, to see you dropping them tonight sucked. So it was great you gave up the two blatant and crucial fouls.

LaMelo Ball being shut down for the year. He's recovered from his foot injury, but it would take the rest of the regular season to get him fit enough to play, and the Hawks are not playing finals.

Great to see he truly embraced his time in Australia, and bought a racehorse

An under-strength Breakers beat the Kings in New Plymouth. They are hanging in there but will need to win out to make the playoffs.

And will probably need a few other results to go our way too.

Taipans bearing Adelaide helped. Need Bullets to lose and the Melbourne teams.

And the Breakers end a good weekend by thumping Melbourne Utd 90-68. The evil Wildcats in Perth next game.

I was worried about Adelaide last night but we torched them. We had the scrubs on with 3.5 minutes to go.

Race for 3rd and 4th is going to be tight.
