So I am still guessing that the NZ Schools teams listed as entries in the WS7s are these teams. Mind you these 'tournament teams' are usually a best of announcement rather than a selection for another team.
It has all been a bit confusing as some players and coaches have been told that NZ Schools are not the Condors tournament teams and to hold off finalising squads until NZSS are selected. That's why there will be a lot of last minute shuffling of players through NZSS/ NZ Cavaliers/ NZ Barbarians etc etc. Many players have options being held open for them.
Guess it will all become clear over the next few days. -
Teams have been named. It's interesting they are also selecting players who have left school. It is different to the Condor Tournament team.

It follows the example of the NZ Barbarians Schools team in XVs. The past few squads also had club players who had already left school.
I guess they are now more age grade (U18) teams than a schools' teams, despite the name of the tournament.

Yeah, and you forget how young some of these players still are. Smith, Hutchinson and Williams were all in the NZ U19s. Both Smith and Wrampling-Alec were in the Chiefs U20s this year and could be for another 1-2 years.

Same as last year then.
I think they decided to make it U18 and attended school during the year. -

@Bovidae Toby Bell (Kerikeri High School, Ngā Puhi) was offered a full Northland NPC contract for 2023 but opted to go with the Canterbury and Crusaders academy..

Very special player ..bloody CanterburyGood academies are the biggest attraction and put you in constant contact with decision makers. They are the curse of the smaller unions though.

Team namings for the World Schools are coming thick and fast now the NZ sides have done their cherry picking.
Have to applaud the organisers as this is one hell of a lineup of teams from around the world.
Not just Oz and the pacific but Scotland, Wales, SA, Japan.....will make things really interesting.
I won't re-post everything here but the World Schools Socials are the place to go to see squads at the moment.
