@Crucial Central Storm, is that a (mostly) Auckland team? Just like Rugby Vault is a Welly team?
And who are the Renegades, where are they from?
Central Storm is a St Mary’s Wellington based team.
Lost a few to NZ and NZM this year so found a few lower north island touch and league players to join.
Watherston is the only FPC player they have (BOP).I don’t know much about the Vault team but I do know they have a couple of players from Mt Maunganui so maybe not Welly based.

Ah, I thought Rugby Vault was a Wellington team, because the Vault Rugby FB page give Wellington as their location, but that may not be the base of this specific team.
I find all these non-rep teams very confusing. It also has to do with the format of the whole tournament that I find unclear. Still not sure whether this is meant to be or become a truly global tournament with rep teams from many countries, or just a tournament to give playing opportunities to as many as kids as possible (from many countries). It seems the latter, with so many random teams.

It’s a combination of the two. Countries have the option of a rep side or invitation sides or both. Plus you have the option for anyone to create a side to cater for players. Central Storm for example are one of these. The main NZ sides were heavily based around schools that played Condors and then Auckland fill ins. The coach found sponsors and started a team for the girls he knew that were missing out. Connections filled spaces.
The concept of NZ based Pasifika teams is quite cool as it adds a good cultural element to the festival.
Basically it is a place to go and get noticed and reaches much deeper than Condors does. -

Was she a chance for the NZ Girls team? They did pick a few who had left school.
Only just finished. Moved to BOP for last year of school. She doesn’t play for school side due to Volcanix and Academy commitments but has helped them. Even though they qualified for Condors they didn’t go.
Was told to wait before committing to Storm but then not contacted again. She’s happy to be back with them though.
Like most selected teams there’s a fair bit of who you know that happens. -

I’d say it was more having a ref that didn’t adjust to the level.
Oz girls forgot to complete the tackle and allowed Japan to offload at will. -

The Japanese try at the start of the 2nd half was as good a try as you'll see. Draw, pass and support, and repeat numerous times.
It was telling that none of the NZ Girls team made the tournament team.
I thought that two of the NZM girls did.

I mean the top NZ U18 team. One each from the Māori and Warriors.
