2017-18 World Sevens Series

Half time: NZ lead 19 - 14 after a terrible start. Defence was weak and the Scott scored two eas, converted tries. The AB7s came back strong though, with tries to Joass, Curry and Ware.
Interesting comment about Joass; he had to lose 10kg after playing a season of XVs.

NZ beat Scotland 31 - 26. A mixture of good and bad in this game.
A win is a win. At least NZ won't lose to Russia so will make QF. NZ vs Blitzbokke in the final pool game will be a good game as always. Blitzbokke played their bench (academy players) in 2nd half against Russia and a lot of questions answered.

Both NZ and SA are through to QF and they are up against each other in a final group match. However because they are top of the championship I will call this a pseudo final. Purely for one reason. Whoever wins has the easy route in knockouts and whoever loses has a QF probably against USA (tough game) and would have Fiji on their side of the draw at SF time. So good luck.

My prediction...
NZ will put it all on the line, win a gutsy hard fought game against SA and then play Fiji in ghe QF, who lose their last pool match, and lose after the siren after Kurt Baker kicks it away ...
Fiji win the Cup ...

Away from TV at the moment, anyone have any progress of the NZ 7s v Sth Africa 7s encounter please?
NZ lead 21 - 0 at half time. I missed most of the first half, but the last/third try from McGarvey-Black was awesome. Great new asset to the team!

AB7s toying with SA at the end.
Break and run from Ravouvou, pass to McG-Black who could easily have scored himself, but throws it high over the SA player for Masirewa to score under the sticks to make it easier to convert the try.
Final score: NZ 33 - 14 SA

Thats what you call 7s rugby. Blitzbokke down 19-0, including yellow card and win the game.
