Ha! I am currently sitting in a hotel in southern Belgium on a stopover and just realised that the Leffe museum is here, Chimay and Maredsous breweries are both within 10 kms.
Unfortunately none of them open until too late in the morning and we have to get to Calais in time for our ferry.
Compromise has been to sample a few from the bar downstairs (a very nice Maredsous Brune) take off early and go via Bruge with time for a quick lunch and a few glasses.

In my experience Belgiun Beer > German Beer

Yep. Just had 7 days on German/Austrian beer and its difficult to find much above average. Looking forward to grabbing some kiwi beer for tonight to watch the fireworks from the top of NZ house in London.

Was out on Friday and had a few Macs Mid Vicious Session IPA, which is 2.5%.

Gotta say, pretty good, hands down the best low alcohol beer I have had.

TR I had some at Akl Airport wee hours of Sunday morning and I agree. It actually tasted like beer!

I was seeing my brother off after a 16 day drinking binge.

I never want to look at a beer again - well not until at least 6.00 pm

Their raspberry one is decent for what it is. Definitely a good option for this time of year.

I'd rather drink a fruity drink than what is essentially weak beer.

Again, any beer under 4% isn't beer. Why do none of you get this?

Look, I know you are all loved up and stuff and even engaged if I remember correctly... but are you sure your closet doesn't just have a squeaky hinge??

    @MN5 Have you tried it?

If I'm driving I would rather have something that tastes quite similar to a mainstream beer than sugary carbonated water.

I usually will skip drinking completely rather than drink two stroke but the Macs on the basis of one glass at 1.00 am in the morning was OKish

Obviously no one here has had Heinekin light. If they had there wouldn't be any arguing and piss taking memes....just nods of mutual sympathy.

@MN5 look, you've been called out for some seriously suspect shit involving fruit flavoured "beer". No amount of throwing out the names of every shit beer you can think of is going to hide that fact.

@MN5 farken Heineken Light doesn't deserve to be classed as beer, shittiest tasting shit ever, I'd have pretty much any other low alcohol beer (which I normally don't drink anyway) before the Heineken shite.

Point was, the Macs Mid Vicious tastes good, and works for those who like to have a couple and still drive.

I saw Heinie light for 16.95 a HALF doz at the bottler. Holy shit who would pay that? You may as well go halves with normal heinie and soda water. Taste would be identical.

Spend $20 at Coles and you get a voucher for a $10 sixer of Heineken. The missus grabbed the Heinie Light by accident one day. Holy shit i'm with you blokes, it is terrible.

I'll tolerate Peroni Leggera, if it's a stinking hot day, and I'm driving, but most lights are pretty awful.

that is my point essentially. I'm so adamant about that that I'd rather drink fruity beer and get shot down on the net than drink low strength beer.
